Have booked my trip to the factory for July and I am looking for any suggestions on nice hotels within a reasonable drive? Aston friendly parking and appeal to other half are high on the agenda! Thanks in advance. Alan

The Halford Bridge Hotel looks nice. The bar is nice, the breakfast and lunch were nice too but I haven't stayed. The new manageress was very welcoming when I went to visit Bamford Rose (about a 30 second drive away) and it is probably 15-20 minutes from the factory. Parking off road at the front and a car park to the side and one over the road. http://www.thehalfordbridge.co.uk/

Funny you should ask! Keep it to yourself but Rob GT has been to the factory again today and took his future son-in-law, Simon, with him. Simon is the Manager of The Manor House Hotel, Moreton-in-Marsh which, on today's drive out, was the turnaround point for the cars. I understand (again, keep it to yourself) that, as of today, the hotel may be considered by AM as a future recommendation. www.cotswold-inns-hotels.co.uk/manorI know I'm biased but it is a lovely hotel and your wife will love it! And, if you get to speak to Simon or Lisa, they will enthuse about Aston Martins and reassure you about their safe car park.

Molly GT said: Well if your going to go over that way, I would also recommend Chipping Campden. Lovely village in the summer. I stayed at the http://www.cotswoldhouse.com/, which is a trendy boutique hotel. Although nice, and a nice spa attached, I thought it was pricey. The hidden gem though was next door at the http://www.kingscampden.co.uk/. Although we did not stay, we did have an evening meal there and I would say that it has so far been one of the best meals this year (and IMHO beats Whatley Manor). I would call this place a proper Michelin restaurant albeit it has no rating whatsoever. Food was simply top-draw with a 3-course running at £30/head. I reckon the rooms are worth a stay-over too at a fraction of Cotswold House.
