I don't think green has ever gone out of fashion, especially not very dark greens. White on the other hand will go out of fashion in the very near future I suspect. White prestige cars look like they belong on a car park outside a league 2 football stadium.

Metallic brown is going to be the new white I reckon, only difference is brown actually looks pretty good smile
Green was massively en vogue. Specifying green on a modern car however is a matter personal (bad) taste. Just watch the re-sale value plummet!

I'm binary on white cars - some cars really suit it (v12v, DBS, gt3, m3), others simply do not (5series, range rover...). Grey/meteriote is pretty safe though ;-)

Lol. But not those collars!!! Actually. I have to confess, off the peg doesn't fit me given my non-model dimensions.

I don't think any cars look better in white than other colours. In fact the majority look truly awful, especially with the equally horrible obsession for dark wheels yuck

Someone as Aston Martin must have thought specifying dark green was a good idea as it was their press car for the MPH show smile

Walnut, mahogany, any wood in a v8v is the epitome of naff. It's bad enough in anything else and reminds me of those cheap Rovers you could get in the late 80s - when racing green was all the rage. On that note green cars are disgusting also, unless it's on a classic racer/tourer.. You really have to have no taste.
Want to jump in here, Tony?....

Aston also unveiled that 310 thingy in a colour combo that we all loved (not!).

Complete rubbish........ My Ghillies Green V8V gets loads of compliments, and comments regarding the colour.... I think mainly due to it being confused with BRG as it is very similar, but the fact remains that it's seen in a very positive light...cool

Good job on removing the burlwoood door caps and replacing them with matching leather. My first thought when I saw the "before" picture was that there were way too many colors and textures going on—I counted 6 total! Less is more.

I would say the exact opposite that carbon fibre has no place in an Aston Martin. Maybe for structural use, but definitely not for aesthetics!
You have a green db9 Georgey - nuff said!!
Oi - so do I! A different green, but green nonetheless biggrin

You do make me laugh with your comments, although this one didn't make me chuckle as much as your 480bhp not being enough for your style of driving comment the other day smile

Yet Aston make them with carbon aesthetics and they sell? If your opinion was correct, they wouldn't sell any?
I am with George - and your logic sucks - just because there are lots of track suit wearers who want to buy cars to match their rapper gear does not mean they are either correct or consistent with the Aston brand.
Carbon aesthetics on Astons are purchased by track suit wearers with rapper gear? Do most people on here dress up as P Diddy at the weekends in your rather odd perception? You really have no idea do you?

The comments in this place get more ridiculous by the day! Still, thanks for the laugh smile

In fairness to Georgous I have a new Vantage S and the CF splitter and diffuser on the bumpers are not to my taste.
I think it detracts from the "beauty & soul" of Aston Martin
A theoretical argument about which is better goes out the window when it is your own hard cash being spent.
This is also the reason many like to see "brave" paints and interiors but never take the plunge with their own money (me included wink )

I do like the contrast but it just breaks up the lines a bit too much for my liking
I think the N400 is the best looking V8V

And along the same lines - to answer the question the OP ("So where does a poor man like me with an entry level Vantage go?")...

...spend nothing and enjoy the best looking, best sounding (IMHO) AM of the bunch - the 05 / 06 Vantage. (or the the original DB9). All the rest, to my admittedly middle-aged tastes, seem 'boy racer' tarted-up. If I wanted scoops and bulges I would have bought Italian or Japanese.

And if it doesn't seem powerful enough for street driving...then you're shifting too early!

Well done, you've just managed a '10 years younger' result on your car, it looks much better.

Wood does look very dated now, but gloss black looks very downmarket like a Ford / Vauxhall, they all seem to be black leather, with shiny black and painted silver dash, so I'm surprised AM dealers all order their stock cars in black with piano black (do they just ask for 'Mondeo look-alike' or 'Insignia replica'?)

But, if you want gloss black, then I've seen it done on an Audi A8 by removing the wood and having it done in black lacquer. Its a much cheaper option. And if you want real style, then why not have the ski slope done in another colour, maybe the exterior colour or even tan to match your door panels?

I would hate to refinish the existing pieces since they are unique and were very expensive to boot. If I went for the refinish option, I'd have to find me a set of used pieces that were in need of a little TLC. That might be something to consider.

Im not directing any disdain towards drivers of green cars. My point is squarely aimed at George who needs to understand that his view is only his view no matter how many expletives he uses to express it....and that, believe it or not, some people will dislike his green car with its old school interior as much as he dislikes white cars or cf. Didn't mean to have a dig at green cars! :-)

I say what I think, and I'm really not too fussed if you don't agree. If you don't like it then tough smile
