. I believe it is down to shortsightedness during design....
I think you guys are over reacting a little bit with this, although this did royaly p us off at first. A quick Google search will show you that this problem affected a lot more brands than Aston, including BMW and Mercedes. So, shortsighted by someone yes, not not necessarily Aston. Looks like some sort of mess-up between Apple and the Automotive OEMs to me - the European OEMs in particular.

Yes, but the Scosche adapter is large and ungainly.

The cable just plugs into the car. 2 second job (see the photo I posted - I pulled it out to take the photo of it). £70 isn't too bad for a clean solution. Definitely worth it for me.

IIRC, It's not just the cable. You need to change the box it plugs into as well. Available from any dealer. If people get stuck, I can get P/N in the morning.

All the best,

James
Yes please! Part number and approx price would be greatly appreciatted. My Aston dealer denied this upgrade existed ( see my prior post)

Thanks, Frank

I wonder why it says you need 2 of these? :|

And does "from MY2008" mean that there is already one in later cars?

Looks like a typo.

And the "08MY From (V) D07649" usually means it can't be used in cars older than that model year and VIN.

Thanks, Karl. I also think it's a typo.

I notice that there are no alternative part numbers for that UIP Assy, so I'm hoping that I already have the part that I need and that the cable I bought will work out of the box.
