Might anyone know where to get the "new style" Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)tire valves at a cost effective price?

The new ones (the new cars have a different system) I think are made by BERU but I could be wrong.

Aston dealers want £75 each and they're quite a bit more expensive here in Switzerland.

Are you after just the valve, or the valve and the wheel sensor?

I did not know there was a new style sensor, and as the BMW valve stem fits 06/07 cars then it might well be the old style. I think it is the valve stem only that is a BMW part for <£20, and they are slightly longer than the AM equivalent. The sensor bolts on inside the wheel. AM only sell a complete unit and I have just had one replaced, total cost including fitting was just under £200. From what I have read elsewhere the sensor incorporates a battery, which runs down over time.

I had a look in the Beru catalogue, but it doesn't list any TPMS for the DB9 / Vantage.

There aren't very many manufacturers for these things. Might be worth asking alloywheelsdirect.net if they can supply. I bought some from there recently for another car.

And £20 won't buy you a TPM sensor. Just the valve, although I would expect to pay less than that.

I got a spare set of wheels for my 997 and the sensors were cheapest direct from Porsche, alloywheelsdirect.net said they couldnt do a better price due to the volume Porsche buy off BERU, i guess it could be the same with Aston,

It is a great system though !

You're a brave chap posting up a photo with mismatched tyre pressures. We have standards you know!
Have they changed the pressures for later vantages as our MY07 are 33 front 36 rear. Or are yours all wrong?

Obviously he has just been driving around in circles to the right. That is why the temperatures and pressures are higher on the left side. Simples.

It was a demonstrator they lent me while mine was in for warranty work !

On the porsche it was very noticeable that the side facing the sun or the wheels near the warm engine always increased more while parked.

Generally the pressures increased by about 4 psi after 10 minutes of driving.

As i said its a great and very accurate system !

I just replaced the Beru TPMS on another car. They are accurate to 1/100th of a bar. Impressive.

Just press the button on the end of the left stalk that changes the digital speedo. It is a new model vantage though, MY 12.5 .

Nice escape!

Interesting on the +4psi observation. On the odd occasion that I've felt like checking pressures en route I normally reckon 37 & 40 so that fits just perfectly

I thought the rule of thumb was 10% increase if the tyres are up to temperature? A proportional increase makes more sense than a constant. IIRC air pressure increases linearly with temperature.

Cobblers (IMHO)
Mine jumps around alot as the temp changes with a resolution of 1 psi
Also I work in the compressed air industry as sensor with 3 decimal point accuracy over that range is WAY to large and expensive to put in a tyre. They only need 1 decimal point accuracy as temperature changes make anything else pointless.

I've not compared the sensors between my two roadsters but the valves are exactly the same. (MY09 & MY12)

Nice to have that display. I wonder why they didn't program the firmware on older cars to display it, or at least upgrade the firmware so that it can be displayed.
