I have now sold my much loved V12 Vantage and have put the deposit down for a new Vanquish. Over the course of the next month I will spec the car/colour etc. Really love the copper colour and may also consider the Colbolt Blue which has made it onto the Vantage S Model range. I have had Silver,Storm Black and Dark blue in the past, so thought I would try a more flamboyant colour choice:-)
I will miss my car. However, life moves on and I am looking foward to the enjoying the next advancement with AM, in fact I cant wait:-) Any one else here considering one

Go blue!
Let us know if there's a box to tick for body colouring the splitter. Subject to an unlikely lottery win it's unlikely that I will be in the fortuitous position to find out for myself. Well done you anyway.

For me, it is simply that I see nothing in the Vanquish that I would prefer over the DBS (except, of course, the 55 HP). And there's the rub...the new model doesn't appeal when placed side-by-side with the current DBS, and the 55 hp is insufficient inducement for me to change. Of course, if some of those other changes did appeal (as they obviously do to you), then the decision might go the other way. At least for the time being, no trade in for me (the Vanq II will have to grow on me I'm afraid).

When are the first cars due for delivery? I have been told early Jan for the first cars and I would assume most people would want 2013 rather then Dec 2012. However, will be having my 50th in Feb so gifting myself:-) Any further thoughts on the copper/Bronze colour thought.................

What sort of colour do you want? A bright, attention grabbing one, or a subtle one?
Personally, I would either go with Hardly Green, or maybe something like Royal Cherry from the Heritage Q by Aston Martin collection. Or even that stunning Royal Amethyst that is on the V12V from another thread. With a Cream Truffle interior, contrast stitching and carpets to match the external colour. Also with body coloured details instead of the unpainted carbon fibre, and with silver wheels.
If you want an attention grabbing one, what about Madagascar orange, or maybe Mako blue? Appletree or Viridan greens both look stunning but are an acquired taste.

I fully appreciate what you say but do believe that when people see the new Vanquish in the metal they will believe it moves Astons design language on considerably - and it will grow on you. I was lucky enough to see it before it was launched and thought it was truly stunning. It will be interesting to see if your views change once you get the chance to see it in person. Unfortunately it is out of my price range - but may have some news to share in the not too distant future if a couple of things fall into place - fingers crossed!!!!!!

I guess somewhere between the two. However, will 100% be going for the cream leather with body colour stitching

What a great 50th birthday present to yourself. I think Cobalt Blue if you want a bit of attention or Ceramic Grey if you don't. Enjoy the process it's all part of the enjoyment of a new car - until you can't decide and times running out!

Heritage paints from the 'Q' collection, maybe California Sage, the most famous racing paintscheme? There are pictures of a DB9 floating about in Winchester blue as mentioned above, the only word for it is 'stunning'. Well done for taking the plunge, look forward to hearing MUCH more about it

Well done. Great decision, you are only here once. I have a Cobalt blue V8VS and was really nervous about it having come from a Black DB9. I am now so pleased I went for it as it feels a lot more sporty , gives the car the personality it deserves and certainly grabs a lot more attention. Once you have gone 'blue' you never go b(l)ack....or something like that.
