Any horror stories you hear of the EBC pads are usually not of red stuff, or at least the new ceramic compound. And are from people who have absolutely thrashed them round a track and cooked the brakes.
Used them on my Vantage for a year now and all my previous cars (M cars, Lotus x 4 etc etc) and they have been great - wouldn't use anything else.
In saying that, they take time to bed in.. c500 miles.
I'm thinking of sticking some of these on the rear of my 07 V8V as my OE pads squeal like a pig at the moment. Can anyone elaborate on the 500mile bedding in please. IE do you bed in and then they squeal for another 500 miles... The first 500 is painful, however you can speed it up by completing the correct bed in procedure of numerous high speed to low speed hard stops (empty motorway recommended) and i've found it helps even more if it's wet. Think I managed to get my last set down to a few hundred miles.
In my experience it's worth the pain however.
I was originally told by a tech at the factory and advised on which other Pagids to fit for track use
anyways, those pics solve the mystery of how different people claim Brembo or Pagid
Pagids need bedding in properly as per instructions on their website, fit with the backing pads etc and are fine ...when they start to squeal again, just bed in again ...usually they are just glazing over through lack of proper use

The Red's come with a slot so that you can use the wear indicators yes.
I believe the actual wear indicators and leads are AM parts and don't come with any pad. AM usually brake them off and replace them when they do pads at a dealership, which in my opinion is ridiculous, as if you simply take your time not to break them then there is no reason why you couldn't keep them for the life of the car.

Hmmmm. I'm trying 29s shortly as I seem to be cooking the standard 422s, which is a bit worrying. I've also been recommended to swap to Castrol SRF.
I don't see how they can be "too compromised", I guess a little noisier and poorer performance until hotter but the upside is they should last longer and also take some decent stick!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone can help! I've recently got a 07 Vantage and ordered the Porterfield pads for front and rear, however I've found an issue where the sensor notches don't fit both sides of the car (e.g. all the notches are on the left hand side of the pads, therefore only allow for seating of the sensor on one side of the car). Has anyone else seen this before? I had a set of TRX pads shipped as well and they had the same issue. Photo attached.

You can get the sensor fitted by snipping the zip-tie that holds the sensor wire in place, rerouting the wire so the sensor reaches, and then using a new zip-tie to fix the wire back in place. Most aftermarket brake pads are made this way - all of the pads are identical, but some have a sensor slot. All the ones with a sensor slot are identical. So on one side of each caliper, the pads are flipped compared to the other side. On one side of the car, the pads with sensor slots are flipped, so the slot is located at the bottom of the caliper.
I've been selling enough volume that I started getting my Porterfield (and other) pads altered to have mirrored sensor slots, so there's no longer an issue when people order them from me. But even prior to doing that, the only thing that had to be done for fitment was rerouting the sensor wires on one side of the car.
