Firstly, there seem to be enough manuals around that there is nearly always a selection for sale.
True...currently there's one black one and errr......
...and a Silver one at WS. Compared to 4 TT2 cars. And your point is caller?
I believe the silver is sold. Regardless, I was making the point that I don't really consider 2 cars a "selection" as you stated. This isn't a new phenomenon either, it's been like this for at least 6 months. For whatever reason, whilst they are not the rarest car out there, owners of the 1100 or so manuals appear to be hanging on to them, and that, by proxy, makes them rare at this point in time. I can't see any reason why that situation would change.

You did say you were going to be controversial smile
I missed that the Silver one had sold - it's still on the website so maybe only a deposit taken. And Latherton has one he is probably going to sell, so we will be back to two anyway. Compared to the TT2 cars, it doesn't look like a dramatic shortage.

I'm not sure that you can say the manuals aren't for sale. Indeed, there seems to be a regular supply, as this thread is constantly pointing them out. They just seem to turn over very quickly though, so not many on the market at any one time. But a decent supply if you wait for the right one to come along, which is more what I meant.

There are no Volantes offered currently in the dealer network. A manual DBS Coupe is easier to buy than a DBS Volante at the moment.
smile

I don't think Volantes are being hoarded or are particularly rare in the global scheme of things Aston Martin (manual Volantes almost certainly are rare beasts though).

So let's get this straight...1 manual for sale and one owner who might be selling......what's YOUR definition of a shortage? There are currently 9 autos (3 are Volantes) and NO manuals on AT. This is not an anomaly either. I has been this way for some time now.

In Aston terms a shortage is a car coming of for sale once or twice a year.

As Mr Aston Zagato says, there always appears to be at least one on offer somewhere

Nice selective quoting.

It seems the manual 35k mile car at £104,950 is now sold. The one at works is also sold even though its still on the AML site.

Meaning there are now none in the dealer network wink

I guess the prices are beginning to cross over now.. I mean even with mileage and production year adjustments, that would be an expensive DBS? yikes Assuming it is TT too..

I know you traded your DBS (going up) for a Vanq 2 (going down) but you should be cheering. The rise in DBS values is underpinning Vanq 2 values.
Seems not wink

Interesting developments, especially as the traditional slump in car prices around Xmas doesn't seem to be a factor here. Had an intriguing conversation with 2 separate dealers and they both indicated that they thought original V12V manual would also be a good long term investment, although not to the same degree as the DBS which has, like it or not, the Bond/Halo connection. I shall sit back and await progress, but if a Vanq 2 8 speed comes into reach, I may be having yet another difficult conversation with Mrs Bins.....

Hi Marcel.

Can't believe someone would trade in a V12V for a boxter. You'll be telling me it's a white boxter next !!!!
