I would have thought the 599 is DBS's contemporary rather than the 550/575. They began their production cycle a full 12 years before, and ceased 2 years before that of the Aston. I appreciate the 599 was much more expensive and the more sporting of the 2 with more power and aggressive set up but would any DBS owners here consider switching to a 599 though, or visa versa?

I suspect there are far, far fewer manual 550s/575s than manual DBS, since everyone bought the F1 trans and only the diehard bought the manual. Just like the DBS once the TT2 was on offer; everyone bought it and only the few went with manual.
There are 3083 manual 550s (all 550s are manual), so a lot more than DBS manuals. For the 575 there were around 10% manual so around 200.I own a 550, its a joy to drive and almost as fast as a V12V eventhough its 10 years older.

Could I trouble you for your thoughts on this one please? Is it in the right ballpark price-wise being a late model/carbon edition, anything obvious to look for/ask when viewing?

Thanks
Price looks right there. Only thing to worry about (assuming it has FAMSH) is its overall general condition. When I was looking for mine, I came across quite a few that just didn't look as though they had been cared for. Things like worn gearstick (not an issue in this instance), worn seat bolsters and steering wheel, stone chipped paint and always check tyre tread depth...a new set is over £1k. A car this old, if it has been looked after, should present almost as new. Ones that aren't tend to get knocked on price when selling or take a while to shift. Common sense really. I actually bought mine through HWM and they have always been very helpful and accomodating. http://www.hwmastonmartin.co.uk/sales/volante-touc...
Thanks

depends if youre comparing manual vs manual or flappy paddels....
Manual 599 is the last V12 manual, so its a very rare experience to drive a 620 bhp NA V12 manual.
Agreed..599 manuals are like rocking horse s***...and priced accordingly. So for the purposes of the real world we'll need to consider manual vs flappy Manual 599 is the last V12 manual, so its a very rare experience to drive a 620 bhp NA V12 manual.

Thanks for this, much appreciated.Well we owned our DBS V TT in Mako for 3 years, sold it for what I paid for it. I'm assuming the dealer then made c. 10k on it. Quite happy with that, I could have sold it privately and gone through the hassle but I really can't be bothered with a car of this price prefer to let the dealer handle it.
Shame I didn't buy a 911 xyz though I'd be a (bored) bazzillionaire by now!

I was contemplating selling my Womans 2010 Volante a couple of months back, it's only done 1900 miles since she bought it new
Despite her never using it I'm glad we kept it as everytime I see one on the road I think wow, what a fantastic looking sausage
If my woman had a sausage the car she drove would be the least of my concerns. Despite her never using it I'm glad we kept it as everytime I see one on the road I think wow, what a fantastic looking sausage
