After this weekends outing around Wales do you think I should have an oil change or will it be ok?

Not a cencern at all, annual or 10,000 miles is fine. If I had a trackday-only car I might halve that interval/distance, but for the roads the service interval is fine

I checked my oil at the weekend. Lovely colour, as said a nice golden brown, like Tate & Lyle golden syrup (only thinner and not quite as sweet to the taste).

originalgeezer said: Not change, but maybe check the level to be on the safe side..... Without a doubt! I check mine before every long drive and it often needs a top up - fully synth is very thin and the engines are pretty old tech Shame AML don't have a little indicator like Porsche do to give you the level every time the engine is started. Wonderful invention!

Good point on the top up. Both mine have needed top ups after long runs

Nick, if you can't open the bonnet to locate the dipstick a quick fix is if you sit forward in the driver's seat and elevate yourself slightly until in line with the rearview mirror. The location of the dipstick will become clear quite quickly
