Following on from a previous thread (which i now can't find frown ) have gone and got some stereo and possibly Sat Nav replacement knobs. They are knurled aluminium and match closely to the heater knobs (Vantage)

They are slightly wider than the originals, and not as tall.

Have got a knob to replace the Sat Nav, but have found the 'post' that the Sat Nav knob attaches to does not come far enough out of the dash. So, thinking of ways round it

Will post up the web link, part numbers and dimensions tomorrow (left them at work). have 3 sets going spare (minimum order of £20). Will sell them for drink especially to anyone going to the London meet.

Nothing wrong with Tony Hall's knobs, just these are aluminimum so match with the existing heater controls.

BTW Tony, YHM, need your address to send you some fibre optic cabling.

Shouldn't be a problem. Will try and post more details tomorrow - spent all day with customers, didn't get into my office.

Nice find! Can you spare a pair for the States? They would be a nice upgrade for my 2007 Vantage radio. Happy to pay cost plus shipping, UPS or Fedex?

Hi, probably cheaper for you to order from the supplier. www.farnell.co.uk
Have just checked and they have a USA site / partner link. Part numbers and pricing from the UK:-
Description: 507.61 KNOB, ALUMINIUM, SETSCREW
Manufacturer Part No.: 507.61
Cost £1.93 EACH! Honestly not joking.
UK has a minimum order value £20.00 exc VAT, hence I had to buy 4 sets. Rest of the cost was for the Sat Nav ones but currently they don't fit, will let you know if I find a workaround. Part Number for the Sat Nav ones for reference:-
Description: 505.41 KNOB, ALUMINIUM, SETSCREW
Manufacturer Part No.: 505.41
Cost of £1.64 each.

Shipping was included in UK cost

If you can't get them in the USA let me know and I will sort out shipping you a set.

Neil, thanks for the lead. Farnell's USA partner is an Ohio company called Newark. Newark's shipment is coming from the UK...no doubt the source is Farnell.

Installed my new ribbed aluminum radio control knobs. As delivered their was a slight interference with the surrounding plastic bezels. A nail file was used to "clearance" the interference points...the back, out of sight, knob perimeters.

Easy, all mods should be this simple. Thanks Neil.

I fitted mine on Friday morning. It was a bit fiddley, which might have been due to the excesses of the day before, but looks much better. When you find a solution for the satnav Neil, I will be in the queue. Many thanks.

OK, mail me with your address and will sort it out.
No more left - two sets when to a couple of drunks I met in a pub in Soho last week.

I found just playing around with positioning stopped the interference. Either that or I've stopped noticing it.
So have you now got 3 spare sets to sell to other USA owners?

Neil, When I got into the Newark computer it told me there were only 8 knobs available at Farell, their UK partner. So...being the good guy I am, knowing what a desireable upgrade these were, and that you had advertised their availability on PH, I bought onlythe pair I needed leaving 3 sets for the rest of the world.

Now, alas, I need a second pair for a Vantage owning mate who saw my beauties at the Woodward Dream Cruise (1.35 million people and 40K cars lining and driving on Woodward Ave, from the Detroit City line north to Pontiac, Michigan...great weather...best party ever!)

Anybody have a spare set of Neil's knobs for use on a second stateside Vantage?

Blimey, i noly bought 4 sets as in the UK there was a minimum order value of £20. Do they charge a fortune for them in the USA? Also, the ones I bought for the Sat Nac, were not in stock, took ~10 days for them to get them in.

No, I don't like them either. Not in the same league as Tony's knobs!
But as ever, you get what you pay for.
