Europarts are not OEM or Pagid
They trade on pattern parts for just about every car out there.
Fine for Euroboxes were they move loads and are well proven.
But on the rarer stuff I would not take the risk of being the ground breaker wink

How do independents/dealers react when you take your own brake pads/sensors into them? I thought this is where some dealers make a lot of profit so will discourage self-buying of items.

If Europarts are providing Pagid then great
I was simply advising caution based on previous experience with them wink

a monkey with one eye and no arms can replace a set of brake pads......any back st garage can replace them in 30min .....provided you have the genuine replacment part !! Tell the main dealer to shove his stupid prices where the sun dont shine.

This appears to be a fantastic find......we can have front and rear pads replaced including labour and VAT for less than £350 !

you cant buy a decent claret these days for £350 !!

I wouldn't want any of my technicians telling me they can do them in 30 mins!! By the time you have carefully stripped out the rear calipers, cleaned off the caliper carriers and slides, checked the condition of the piston dustcover, ensured the piston is completly free and pushed back SQUARELY using the correct tool into the caliper body, fitted the pads and sensors and lubricated the carriers, slides and pad backing contacts points, refitted and correctly torqued the wheel nuts then I would give them at least 31mins to do it biggrin

PS totally agree with Mikey on ECP and many of the high profile factors - lots of plain unbranded boxes come out of these places that are sourced from around the world AT A PRICE. Some parts manufacturers have TWO different standards of product and ECP and the like buy lots overseas hence the price.

Michael is correct...HE can't buy one.

However, your lovely little Margaux keeps winking at me and I'm sure it cost you £349.99 wink

Are we on about a barrel or a single bottle here?!

I don't think I could tell the difference between a £10 bottle and a £350 one!

The point I was making is any competent motor mechanic can replace a set of brake pads.....there is nothing special about Aston brake pads......but what I do find interesting is that you imply that the pagid 4-2-2 brake pads purchased from Euro parts might be inferior in some way......I doubt it but would value others opinion

To Jockman.....what year was the little margaux smile

Would be interesting to know if I should use these type of products next time I need, Tony, or if there is something I'm missing. From £270 down to £120 plus any vat differential, it's a big saving but I'm not going to buy them if they are less effective.

Mr G, I don't have the bottle in front of me but it was a gift from Nick so I know it will be decent - you are more than welcome to a glass if you pop round smile

I put the EBC redstuff ceramics on mine for around £100 per side. If you are careful enough you don't need to replace the sensors - they just pull off and pop back into your new pads.

was under £250 fitted for all four corners for me last time.

I don't see how these can be less effective, looks like the genuine Pagid parts to me. I've ordered them anyway to be fitted Monday so will let you know how I get on

I wasn't suggesting or implying that the Pagid pads specifically are inferior just that SOME parts from SOME large factor chains can be like that. I KNOW that there are two standards on CERTAIN clutches for instance. Some are produced for UK/ western europe and another batch are for eastern europe. Big issue with many of our local suppliers because they cannot compete on prices.

Ultimately I was wanting to help out and share my trade knowledge thumbup
