Thanks to Gibberish and chuds285 for the idea and the fitting information.

Funnily enough I did mine today as well. The rear cabin lights took some doing but once I worked out you were better off removing the rear seats it was much easier. Looks fab now. Very cost and time effective upgrade

Yes it means the map reading candles actually become useful! Another thing that I complained about from new and they did nothing about. Grrrrrr

How did you manage to do the footwell lights?
I upgraded all my interior ones a few months back except the footwell bulbs but gave up after smacking my head off the foot pedals while hanging upside down trying to get the LED ones back in.

Do the more recent Aston's have LED's or is this an upgrade you can do to any model.

Manufacturers of LED lamps have created the fittings to retrofit just about every type of lamp now. All I did was go to a local car spares place ( not Halfrauds ) with the manual out of the car and check against the list to what they had in stock. For mine, the lamp equivalent was printed on the packets.

If you can't be bothered with fleabay and you live in the M25 j25 area, car spares in Cheshunt carry all you'll need.

I haven't done externals yet (number plate etc) as I don't know if a dud lamp would usually generate a message on the dash. The circuitry inside the lamp is slightly different for these. However, I only need to drop an existing lamp out to check and if it doesn't show as a lamp fault, I'll be straight down car spares to get them.

It was tricky and I had to do the drivers side pretty much by feel as I couldn't get my head under the dash. I used a big mirror to see where I was with aligning the bulb with the base. Passenger side was much easier.

Mine doesn't show any fault (wedge type) I fitted these: http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-...

When I spoke to a dealer about spare bulbs for travelling in Europe for the V12V he told me all bulbs were LEDs except main beam. So just to be clear, as you know us V12V types are a bit thick. If the dealer's right then none of the cars exterior lights need be changed to LEDs as they already are except maybe the number plate. And are we saying it does not matter what age your car is all internal lights can be upgraded to LEDs?

Car is going to be laid up for a while whilst I wait for new splitter so I might as well play with some new bulbs.

I think it's just the DB9'ers who are upgrading their exterior side lights .......

Personally Rib I'd have stuck with duller bulbs so you can't see those mats! smile
