Cool, didn't realise it was that easy. So there's a clearly marked 'AUTOBAHN - DERESTRICTED, NO SPEED LIMIT' sign in English at the start of every section is there..?
Good of das copper to do that for you, those Germans think of everything!
Or you could look up the local regs and signage when going over...Good of das copper to do that for you, those Germans think of everything!
Ignorance is no excuse when the chaps with guns stop you

You could always try not speeding, you irresponsible fool. It would save fuel, thereby stopping global warming, which will lead to a rise in sea levels, flooding the vast areas of the world. People like you should be ashamed. Take a look at the bugs squashed on your front bumper. They might be alive if you'd been travelling at 4mph with a man in front of you carrying a red flag. Better still get a bicycle and keep fit at the same time. Maybe a hybrid bicycle with a solar panel too. I think we should empty the prisons of rapists and burglars (well those who get custodial sentences) to make room for lead-footers, such as yourself...
Tough luck mate
Could not have put it better myself. Tough luck mate
Bring back the birch for these scoundrels.
I had a recent incident on the M25... Was well over the speed limit and got a tug.. The copper was a real nice chap who A, ignored the fact I was traveling at +++ and also didnt fine me for having ilegal number plates...
He was a stand up bloke who displayed full common sense and courtesy, I have a clean licence and he felt it should stay that way... If only all traffic cops were like that...

I assume he means dangerous plod wise as its pretty flat and straight.
The flat straight roads are the worst....they must be, cos I travelled from Oswestry to Liverpool and back today, 100% dual carriageway motorway the whole way....No 1 Porsche Boxter going way to fast on Wrexham bypass, right in front of me aquaplaned into central reservation, bounces of barrier, and down embankment.... Lucky she didn't roll it.... Not a straight panel car totalled...
No 2 A55 just by the exit for Chester BMW, aquaplaned into central reservation, and looked like he'd clipped another car on its way
No 3 M53 Fiat somthing or other up the embankment, by Elesmere port
No 4 M53 by Birkenhead.... Audi on its roof
No 5 A55 (return journey) pick up truck on its side, on in the left hand lane, mud all over the road where he'd hit the banking..
It's about 60 miles to Liverpool from my house..... Conditions were terrible, but they just keep sailing past completely oblivious to speed and lying water....

Not wishing to open the seasonal can o worms, but this one of the unsung benefits of winter rubber, those super deep channels reduce aquaplane risk massively! No 1 Porsche Boxter going way to fast on Wrexham bypass, right in front of me aquaplaned into central reservation, bounces of barrier, and down embankment.... To be honest.... many were just driving to fast for the conditions...... 1000's and thousands of other drivers travelled along those roads today, and they didn't crash...I was in my Jeep, doing 50 and it was enough, not many came passed, so I can assume that 50 ish was about right, you can bet your bottom dollar that the ones I mentioned above were doing a fair bit more than that..... The Boxter certainly was...I'd estimate it passed me at at least 75, the car just swung right it hit the central barrier and then it was just a mass of brake lights and confusion.... Driver very shaken, but mostly unhurt.... Very lucky not to collect anyone else, but no doubt in my mind that the driver was just completely unaware of the consequences of aqua planing, and was probably driving at the same speed they do on any other day
Have to smile..... Driver has been in touch with local paper and says accident was caused by a blocked drain.......bless

Saw a Merc E-class estate do the same thing a few years ago. People are idiots in poor conditions. Modern cars don't help matters IMO, giving the impression they can defy the laws of physics.

Never have a problem on them - at least off the Autoroutes
In 12 years of driving fast on the continent, that's what I said. Right until they were sat waiting patiently for every British registered car that came past after Le Mans had ended. The trap was on a dual carriageway with a poorly signed and totally unnecessary 70kph (40mph) limit. Like fish in a barrel

It will be 2weeks tomorrow since I was stopped on th A3 and I haven't received anything from the Police. I thought there was a 14 day window in which I should have received a penalty notice.
'Fraid not. 14 days if caught by a camera van or static camera. If you were pulled by plod, they have 6 months to process it. You will most likely hear from them I'm afraid unless he loses his notebook, didn't actually take your details or decides not to bother. None of which are likely JBE68 said:

I was stopped this evening @ 530pm by an un-marked black Mercedes A-Class when I exceeded the 50mph limit on the Kingston By-Pass just past the Hook Under Pass on the A3. He just said it was bad luck and smiled as he awarded me 3pts. Didn't ask for ID or my license saying that the car had video equipment that did it all automatically.
Are you sure this was a real plod? How can his car identify you as the driver?
