Does anyone have the proper part number for the Aston Sport Exhaust? I believe the N400 and N420 is the same kit, but the Vantage S may or may not be a different item. Interested in adding one to my 2009 Vantage

Don't know I'm afraid, though the N400 exhaust sounds pretty similar to Vantage S, but the 420 exhaust sounded stock to me (fewer pops and bangs). Grant's book will robably tell you - I don't have my copy to hand.

Have you thought about the Bamford Rose exhaust? It frees up a lot more power. I want to move from the N400 exhaust to the BR one.

But does anyone have the part number? I am looking at a used exhaust that is claimed to be an Aston exhaust but need to part number to verify.

Ask your local dealer to check out the part numbers for you in the morning, then you will know for sure.

This is what I found out:

2009 Vantage Part# 6G33-5520-HF
N420 Part# AD23-5230-AE, the same part# as Vantage V12!
Vantage S, Part# BG33-5230-AB

An I can verify that the S exhaust fit on an early non-S as I have one now installed on my car.

And how does it sound?

The sound is more pronounced and deeper when the valves open, when shut not much difference. The effect is not dramatic, but that is not what I wanted. Having the ability to have the sound quiet (when valves closed) is why I was not interested in a quicksilver or RSC.

Now that I have had time to experience the E exhaust and compare next a Vantage with the standard exhaust I can provide more feedback. When the valves are closed the sound is only slightly louder than the stock muffler with no drone in the cabin. But the valves open, or I use my cabin switch the difference is more dramatic. It does sound much better, when I used to operate the switch to open and then close the valves when cruising a 3,000 rpm or so, I could barely discern the difference, now the S exhaust is much louder and richer.
