Will be taking a trip up to Loch Ness next Friday from Kent, got a careful eye on the weather as I hope to be taking the V8V, however, the weather forecasters are lying bds, as we all know, so can the northern contingent of PH let me know what the conditions are REALLY like ooop there?
Many thanks

John,
Thats a week away and everyone knows that Scotland experiences every season in a day, every day.
Your question is like asking"what is a woman thinking".
There is no answer and the weather forcasters will have it right for some period in the day.
Be prepared for everything!

Yeah,( or stupid), last year we went to Keswick, got into a bit of trouble in a couple of passes, once home and dry, did feel a bit pleased with the adventure, so we thought we would push a bit further this year, don't want to bottle out and take Range Rover, but if snow looks possible, will have to succomb

Mmm.....that bad eh?
Eight years ago, me and a few mates drove our motorbikes down to a trackday at Leddenon, in southern France in Febuary!
Arrived to find track under 3ft of snow! The worst weather they had experienced in 30 years!?
We were advised to put our bikes on our trailers and get out of France whilst we could, when we explained we had rode all the way, the organiser ( English man from oooop north) shook his head and said we were the four hardest blokes he had ever met !!! ( he didnt know that on the way up the mountain to the track, two of us were crying)
My point is, how hard can it be?

I love Loch Ness, went there only in August just gone, hit over 59 mph (Single carriageway) in Glen Coe, wickedly quick, go carefuly of the undulating road. Also between Ben Nevis (Fort William) and Loch Ness, there is a 2 mile straight that you can again hit 59 mph on (single carriageway).

I think I might have hit 60mph even ....... biggrin

Apparently they have received over 2 million votes in favour of Scottish independence.

And that's just from the English smile

I say give it to them, they can also have their part of the national debt, which I understand is disproportionate to the size of their economy, it would also mean that they would have to join Europe, because as Scotland they are not part of it. Apparently they are claiming that they should, "evolve', to a member state instead of, "assending".eek

Give them indepedance, it's only England's (i mean - my) money that stops their economy folding .....

The breakup of the Union will not happen. Globalisation is transcending national identities. People in Glasgow and Edinburgh are as cosmopolitan as those in London, New York and Tokyo.

In the meantime we shall have to tolerate bigots and Daily Mail Readers with their anachronistic views on the dynamics of modern 'nationhood'.

Sometimes you kill stupid people and daft ideas with kindness smile
