I am updating my phones and have looked at the phones that are listed as being compatible for the security Eurowatch I find both on the AM web and eurowatch lists appear to be some years old.
Can anyone confirm whether or not which of the later phones will work with the security system.
I was looking at the Nokia lumia 820 for the business and for my own phone Samsung gallaxy ace 2 purely to limit cutting edge technology!!! As Aston technology has not been exactly advanced, so has anyone got these phones and do they work with the security.
Do not suggest the Iphone p l e a s e......

Iphone 4 & 5 and Galaxy S3 definitely work. Just give them a call to check yours.

I have my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 linked to my V8V's tracker. However, it cannot connect to the BT phone system at the same time. :-(

I think the basic requirement is that the phone must gbe able to link to two bluetooth devices at the same time?

The chap I spoke to at eurowatch when I swapped from an iphone4 to 5 was very good, like everyone else has said, just give them a call to check.

Having had mine trailered twice recently (no keys in ignition) with a deafening silence from Eurowatch I checked to find one of those "not happened before" scenarios. It came with tags - I ditched them but declined the synch with phone option risking if someone nicked the keys they could have it.

Turns out it has to synch with something, so mobile it will have to be.

This is all very current, so haven't got round to it yet, but the bloke I spoke to said the eurowatch/bluetooth/phone was brief - ie when you start, it will check the phone is there, then drop the link, so it should then allow car/bluetooth/phone per normal.

I would be very interested in the outcome of this post before committing!

Lumia 820 will work fine. My 920 works a treat, and they use the same OS and Bluetooth module and SW.

It's a great device.

I am very biased.

Hmmm...

I don't have any tags or any phone linked, but I got a call from Eurowatch within about 2 minutes of having my car trailered. Perhaps there's an option to not have it paired with anything?

I think you're right, it is possible to have no Driver Recognition Device...

"In the event a Driver Recognition Device is NOT detected when the ignition is turned on, the vehicle Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) red lamp continues to illuminate for 60 seconds after the vehicle has started. This is to show that the system has NOT disarmed. If the car is then driven off, after 100m a silent alarm is transmitted."

Update....Well after a number of calls the only one giving accurate info was Eurowatch who stated most phones will work, the Nokia lumia and the Galaxy were fairly common, the only make that has caused problems was HTC... sorry Tony.. this also is confirmed by my own experience with a HTC Mozart 7 which just would not pair with Eurowatch but did operate with the in car system. I got a very simple Nokia to pair with the Eurowatch so the last 18 months has been Ok but now I want to get sensible phones.

Astons were vague saying it depends on the vehicle year and the phone operating system and the bluetooth version, the dealer just said they did not know.
However I will update when the phones arrive next week...

After thought.....would it be more sensible to upgrade to the new DB9...just a thought...

Doesn't need to. Connect to Tracker company, registers then disconnects. Bluetooth then available for car integration.
Bluetooth was never designed as a mult point access protocol, its a one to one (local) connectivity protocol.

What he said smile The bluetooth connection to Tracker takes a fraction of a second and then disconnects leaving the phone free to connect to the car bluetooth phone connection.
