My V8V Roadster has developed a creaking noise from the rear nearside. Sounds like rusty bed springs when the car goes over a bump or undulation in the road. I'm figuring it's a suspension issue, but interested to hear from anyone with suggestions. The other possibility is that it's coming from the hood mechanism.

I have what sounds like exactly the same thing in my V8V. Near side rear, I was convinced it was a creaky shock type thing but had a ferret around in the back and it seems to emanate from the trim just above the parcel shelf aft of the small window. I'm aware this wont necessarily be the case with a Roadster, but worth a look as I was quite relieved to find it wasn't mechanical. That said, I haven't had time to fix it yet!

Possibly the handbrake pads catching the discs slightly as the suspension compresses - try jet washing the rear wheels and taking all the dust off, if it stops - you have your answer. I think there are a couple of fixes for this, although I am not sure how long term they are, I just consider it a feature smile

This - quite common as techs have a habit of adjusting them on the lift when the manual says do it on the floor wink

My 2008 did that and was checked out under warranty, couldnt reproduce it and rear suspension all checked out OK. It still happens occaisionally but havent been able to pin down the source.
