Is it just me who doesn't get why these people just drive their supercars around a city? I couldn't think of anywhere worse to drive!

They must feel some sense of inadequacy, with all that money its the only way the can draw attention to themselves. Sad really.

Beacuse it's fun? The incongruity of it is alway a laugh, they sound great with the noise bouncing off the buildings and... it's fun smile

Until you get stuck in traffic frown

So, in England... we had the Chelsea cruise.

Big American V8, slow traffic.. etc

Loads of slow but noisy cruises through tunnels..

Not sure they are really so different.

Absolutely, me too. But a couple of times a year, on a sunny Sunday morning when you don't want to go fast; pootling from Victoria to Parliament Square, up Whitehall, through Trafalgar Square, down the Mall, past the Palace, along Park lane to Marble Arch, back and along Piccdilly, stop for brunch at Richoux on South Audley St in Mayfair (free parking) then back home through Knightsbridge.

Anyway, who are you to tell anyone where they should be driving their car? At least they ARE driving it tongue out

I think they are more likely shagging for Saudi or Kuwait, an activity I doubt would meet with approval with their local customs and laws.

I knew it was only a matter of time!

At least my car gets out of first gear smile (on a serious note crawling around town in a supercar can't do it much good can it?)

In a Miura, Bora or a Mangusta... no, probably not, they are going to get VERY hot with their antiquated cooling systems.

In a modern car, why not? They have properly working radiators, better material construction and are tested for tens of thousands of miles of crap like that.

A the risk of becoming the poster boy for crawling round town posing, I don't think I have even driven my DB9 through central London unles trying to get somewhere and taking the wrong route. Probably did in the Jag and DB7 when I lived in Bristol though, London was a treat back then!

I don't care if they are Saudi or Welsh.......good luck them provided they don't cause others problems......lived in Saudi for 3 years and got on great with the Saudi lads........I wish I had an oil well at the bottom of my garden smile

I saw a program on TV the other day where the Local Met Police are pulling over the Middle East Supercars, Lambos, Enzo's, Bugatti's etc and asking for their insurance. They can't produce it and they take the car. laughlaughlaugh

Looooove it ....... biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Apparently they tell me insurance in an Aventador for a 21 year old is expensive, hey ... who knew ..... eek

I have heard that the cars are bought by their parents etc, and then they have to insure them, and at up to £50k for insurance, yes £50k ........ the young ones can't insure them, so they keep their foreign plate on and blag the insurance aspect.

Unfortunatley (for them) the local Plod have caught on to this and are pulling them over, they take the cars (because they can't prove insurance), impound the cars and wait for some rich parents to bail them out.

They don't get any bloody points on their licence though (assuming they have one) mad
