I actually feel a little bit sorry those rich kids. They'll never know anticipation or the feeling of the chase. I love exotic cars because I've always lusted after them. I grew up wanting to some day be behind the wheel of one, and being a poor immigrant to Britain, my family never had the resources to permit this (well, most don't I suppose). Its taken a lot of hard work, late nights, stress and sweat to get to a point in my life where I can (almost) have what I want and see my dreams come true. There's a depth and satisfaction in that which those guys will never truly appreciate.

Same here.

If I could trade that for my dad being loaded and me having whatever I wanted, I'd do it in a heartbeat smile

Poor rich kids my backside!

Of course, if someone handed you a winning lottery ticket you'd be daft to say no. However, I'm not sure I'd want to trade the richness of my life experiences simply for cash. In fact - and this sound a little bit philosophical - those kids haven't done and probably never will do half what I've done in my life, and I'm still 38.

I'm still 38 too.

Would still have happily grown up with a life of sloth, greed and privilege rather than having to wait for it yes

Being from a developing country must be tough. biggrin
If it weren't for the blue (and possibly the age gap - you forgot to mention that), I'd say we were separated at birth Jockers!

I think it depends just how much money you have whether it can buy happiness or not... I do have a tendency to buy things and quickly tire of them. If I had more money I could always buy new things to replace those, but alas, I don't. I'd be fairly happy driving around in my Ariel Atom for a bit cool

Although if I was that rich, I'd definitely want a girlfriend to share it with.

Exactly my point. I'm bored, I know, I'll buy an Aventador. I'm bored of that now (something else is out), I know I'll buy the Aventador LP9000, hmmm, great, I'm bored of that too. In fact I'm bored of it even before I got the chance to fart in the seat, let alone become at one with the car (whatever that means). Where does it stop? Where's the fun? They're just objects that pass through your hands if you haven't worked up to them.

I'm not sure I feel sorry for the rich kids, but I love your life theory, I agree with the way you think a lot ..........

I'm of the opinion that if you worked for the car and worked hard, then you appreciate the car far more than if its given to you.

I once read an article about a millionaire that had a daughter, she wanted a car, and she wanted a TransAm (in America - yes) he knew she would not respect the car. He arranged to get her the brand new Red TransAm which was then stripped to pieces in a garage, he then gave her the car on the proviso that for every hour she spent putting the car together, he would provide a mechanic to work with her. She was deserate for the car, agreed and the car was finished. Apparently she had the car for years and years, long after her millionaire friends were changing their cars day by day .....

I can see why, instead of being given a car and not working for it, she invested time and effort and eventually attained the car.

You might consider getting a job as a car salesman, then you can spend all day in a showroom looking at cars (and selling the occasional one). I'm sure Stratstone would love to take on someone with your love for the brand. Do anything all day everyday and it gets dull. biggrin

The more I slave away at my desk, the more I savour the time spent enjoying its rewards (like sitting in my car and listening to the exhaust as I scream through my village). For me there is little satisfaction in things that can be had easily.

I have worked hard for my stuff, I still get bored of it! The DB9 is the exception though, I can't think of anything I'd change it for except another DB9. The other toys would need to be additional to it rather than a replacement.

I don't think it would get dull (for me) if I was doing Cheryl Cole all day every day biggrin

I do take your point though, it's the reason I would never use something special like the Aston as a daily car.
