OK it's time to start plotting the next one.
Given that I'm now a responsible company Director (oh yeah that's so me!) I'll need to take the afternoon off for such antics.
Anyone got views on January or waiting until Feb?

Not entirely sure if that means you're there a weekday or just at the weekend.
I'll be up in town both the Friday 1st and Monday 4th if you fancy a pint/sherry.
Otherwise Yautcha in Broadwick street reputedly do very nice cakes!
If not I'll leave a drink behind the bar at the D&D for ya!

Just for the weekend Pierre.....visiting Amy !!

Thanks for the reccy but I don't really like cake....and I'm not sure about the sherry bit. Might do the pint bit though so I'll keep you posted.

I know you shower down there like the Dog & Duck but we're trying like mad to get into the Fat Duck. As Nick is close by I've approached him for some advice but I wondered if anybody else knows a 'shortcut' confused

Don't a couple of the top Amex cards (platinum & black) have a concierge service? If you've got one of the cards, they might be able help you jump the queue. Or for that matter, another concierge service (a la vertu phones or top London hotels).

Otherwise, bookings open two months in advance (used to be 90 days). So just try and make sure that you're on their website at 10am on the same date, two months in advance. Failing all of that, they also run a reserve list. Oh, maximum table size for booking is 6.

(Can you guess who's going to the Fat Duck for my birthday in March?) lick

Aaaahhhhhh !!! You jammy git Bravo yes

Since it was on Masterchef, my desire to get there has been rekindled. It has been the world's top restaurant for 2 years now???

Nick did mention the Amex route and I've never really been into Amex but I'm starting to feel a visit to that site MAY be in order.

Have a great Birthday smile

A mate of a mate of mine who's about 5'2" met Heston in the toilets at a wedding once. Shook his hand and offered him "fish fingers with sparklers" as a free inspirational idea.
Not sure it's going to get you in, but you could try ringing up and asking them to pass the message on to Heston B and see if it rekindles a memory to afford you VIP status.
Given your vertical challenged nature you may even get away with it!

We were similar height when we met at Hever. But if you remember you were wearing your platforms that day. I was amazed you could walk in them tbh. Practice makes perfect. Just look at Bernie Ecclestone. hehe

Phil - do not get a Plat Amex it's a con at £400 per year. Get a BA Amex for the air miles. My biz partner is back Monday so will see what he can do

NT, Pete is v. dangerous in combination with the D&D and often comes up with hare brained schemes. However, since he is now reporting to the FSA he is obviously a responsible citizen and we should pay attention to his ideas.

When?

I played golf with Daimen Hill today and he didn't rate the Cockernee's getaway skills on U-tube when at Spa but did say that at F1 speed with down force, Eau Rouge was a thrill.

Nicks right on that. Get the BA Premium Amex card. Costs £150 a year.
In one year I've just got the companion voucher and sufficient Avios points to fly to Denver or the Maldives business class for two people (worth about £5k, setting aside very restricted flights). OK it costs about £1k in taxes etc but you can't complain at that.

Yes, but does it have a concierge service (to get you into the Fat Duck)? tongue out

£400 to jump a que is just too much IMHO. Oh and there are plenty of other stunning restaurants. Many in Barbacos which you can fly to Business Class for taxes only if you have the BA Amex biggrin
