All over the shop at the moment.

Can't understand why a 2012 car would be worth so much more than a 2009. It's not like they changed the car at all during this time! Year of registration appears to have more effect on value than mileage. Nice to see a few higher mileage cars coming up for sale. But there seems to be no consensus whatsoever as to what a V12 Vantage is worth. One thing's for certain though, it's a great time to buy one. Some very attractive prices out there.

This is a stonking deal surely?

"Garage door opener" - Not much use unless you have a garage fitted with garage door opener.

"Sensational to drive with good saving off new" - really ? You mean a used car costs less than a new one ? Who'd have thought that then ?

850 miles in 3 + years..... that is crazy. I paid less than this last year for 2009, so this is good news for me biggrin

The car has done 850 miles in 3 + years...... what did the owner do, just drive it to have it serviced, drive it back and park it up again and then just look at it! confused

These cars are driving cars...yes

This has been for sale for weeks, so market doesn't seem to think it is such a good deal. Think the low mileage is putting people off, if it had got say 3k miles on there would be more confidence in it.

V12V prices remained quite static during 2012 compared with 2011 and the end of season price drop in October last year didnt materialise.
It would be nice to see prices remaining strong but I think it all depends on whether production ceases as intimated or if AM just keep churning them out!

Agreed, but given the car hasn't changed in any meaningful way since 2009 it should make used cars look increasingly attractive.

I'm encouraged by the idea that a low mileage is putting people off! That's the way it should be with Astons. They are built to do mileages and it would be great if there was one supercar that owners wouldn't be afraid to use.

I still think they are generally far too cheap though, I just can't get my head around paying so much more for a new V8 Vantage. In some cases £30k more! confused

Not wishing to knock the V8 in any way, it's a glorious car and I'd most likely have a Vantage Roadster if the V12 didn't exist. But it does exist and I'd have thought the new V8 Vantage price would help prop up V12 prices. It's not like its any more expensive to run is it? Such a special car though and the last V12 manual on sale. Clarkson was right. That most glorious chapter in automotive history ends with the V12 Vantage.

They will sell you a brand new V8V for 'almost' the same price TP as the used V12V in your ad. When I bought my 1 year old DB9 @ 89k in March 2010, the sales team were very keen to let me know that the £110k stickered V8V could be had for a similar price. Without asking, they had knocked 20k off to entice me.

I suppose discounts are applied quite liberally depending on the season and the quarterly? targets smile

Yes but some people do still pay list price for V8s. You wouldn't expect to get a discount if you order new from the factory for starters. They're only available on dealer stock. I've never been offered a monster discount by a dealer either.

Fair play to those that managed to wangle a good price at the right time, I can understand the desire to crow about it here but it's a myth (and a counter productive one) that all astons can be had for £30k off list. It also doesn't change the fact that most people who buy a brand new V8 could have had a V12 plus some change. In some cases a heck of a lot of change.

I suppose some people just want to have a new car with a generous original warranty as opposed to a used V12V with an inferior warranty on it ??

Would be interesting to look at people's profile at the point of purchase - the V8V is a fantastic first entry into AM ownership whereas the V12V would be an upgrade for a current owner, or at least an entry level for somebody with a pedigree in fast cars ?? ie NOT ME.

I've never met anyone who has had 30k off the list price tbh.

My thinking is if you can get a 12year car for under £100k how can the 09/10 mdls be worth so much? I think a 09 car with around 10k miles on it should be no more than £70/75k. imo.

Sometimes quantitatives and qualitatives don't speak to each other Paul.

As we all discovered when Di sold her car smile

I am still in shock at what Di got for her car, the dealer must have been lucky to break even! Good for her though.

Many buyers like to purchase Aston Martins from main dealers. There is the feeling that they (might) have more knowledge about the cars.

I see that there is a very similar car with a main dealer, same colour, but the next model year, for an asking price of £3,000 less.

Looks expensive, I just bought an 11 plate car for 86k from a main dealer. Proper lightweight seats too.

Hi all. And a Happy New Year to all.

Just to clarify. My local AM dealer offered me £80,000 and wouldn't budge. Another main dealer offered me over £10,000 more. Bearing in mind my 2nd service and tax were due, I couldn't turn this down.

He emailed me to say he had sold my car on but I have no idea what it achieved.

Double edged sword really as if the most I could have got was £80,000 then I would still have my car which I miss every day.

Grandchild imminent so I will pop on here to announce when the big day happens.

Stay safe chums.

Di xx

Only if they aren't going to shed more value. Which is not the case I'm afraid.

Aston have been very poor at both their pricing and dealer stock strategies. Neither help residuals one bit (even firms who are traditionally good at these things are struggling a bit).

These will be starting with a 6 before a massive amount of time has passed. 12-18mths tops.
