My "Motortrader" magazine states AstonMartin new car sales to Nov 2012
as 878, whereas in 2011 971.
Their Uk market share is down around 10%.

It would be great to see the 7.3 litre V12 in a Vantage. 700+ bhp would be nice.
IS THIS A SECRET ?

There is an Aston Martin Vantage, with an engine 7000cc to 7499cc, on the DVLA database.

Could this be a factory owned development car, fitted with the 7312cc (750bhp/760PS) engine from the One-77, that might become a second generation V12V model?

Wow! Lets form a queue now.

(Disappointedly, it might just be another DVLA error.)

depending upon when ti was registerd, could it in fact be a mule or engine testbed for the ONE77 whilst in development ? When was it first registered

I remember the monocoques cost the factory 250k each on teh ONE 77. I did know the quoted engine cost - I don't think it was vastly different, certainly 200-250k IIRC. So that would make it unviable, even with cost decreases due to volume

However it could also (if correct) have been a thought for V12 Zag ?

I do not think there is a legal way of knowing that.

If anyone knows the registration marks of some AML development cars, then we could use the internet to look up the first registration dates.

I am surprised the V12Z has the same engine as the V12V. How they can justify a V12V with a different coat for nearly 3 times the price is an interesting proposition! wink

Easy: people bought it. Rarity.
