Howdy!

long term member, names kyle im 26, live in warrington, not posted in a while, used to have a silver 355, then a gallardo spider then i got banned!
now im torn between either a DB9 volante or a vantage,

my worries are that i went to aston wilmslow the other day and sat in the vantage droptop with sportshift, not alot of room for me im 6ft 3, now i love the look of the coupe vantage and like the idea of a manual again but worried that i wont fit!! is there more room in the manual coupe?? i dont want to be hitting my knee on changes! has anyone got one around warrington i can sit in and try as stupidly i didnt think to sit in a manual at wilmslow!.

the other option is the db9 but i think its a bit big for my missus to drive aswell!

any help appreciated!

Howdy K.

Get your ass back into Wilmslow and sit in a coupe.....and a DB9.

You are small compared to some of the lads on here and they drive Vantages too.

Remember the DB9 is only 12 inches longer !! smile

I'm a bit younger/shorter however I felt I had a lot more room in my old Vantage (coupe) than my new Vantage (roadster).

DB9 might be the answer.

It's those four excess cylinders that take the room smile

I am 6' 1" and fit in a Vantage coupe with room to spare. The seats have quite a bit of adjustment. You don't seem old enough for a pipe and slippers so a DB9 may prematurely age you and make you more attractive to people eligible for Saga insurance biggrin

Hence why he said a Volante in the original post. He wants a younger image with the superb styling and class of the DB9.

And as a bonus it comes with a proper engine smile

I am 6:3 and have had both a DB9 and now own a V12V.

There is definitely more headroom in the Vantage. This has to do with the curvature of the coupe roof which curves behind your head in the Vantage. Also, the rear seats of the DB9 are next to useless whereas you have a proper hatch in the Vantage offering much more space and versatility. Finally the carbon backed sports seats (option) gives you much more head clearance as you sit deeper. Theses are not available for the DB9.

Also - I cannot find any room in the Vantage Roadster. The roof insulation along the two sides is quite thick and I will hit my head against that (especially if wearing a helmet for a track day or so) - unless you drive open obviously.

Definitely get a low down on the history....7k on a 7 ish year old car has to tell a story.

I would be getting it thoroughly checked that nowt has seized up on it.

Seems cheap for such a low mileage car, but there again, it maybe the colour combo that's keeping the value down. Talking of the colour, pay particular attention to reflection of the dash in the windscreen when you sit in it. I test drove a vantage with a light interior but the reflection was just too much. Darker colours IMO work better.

Think I read you're only 26, not 62, which is still too young to have a 9. biggrin
