I'm trying to - so far no answer to my question as to who gets to choose the 100 cars?
I don't go on AMOC that often and I can see this being handed out to the 100 longest beards
This may be just what you need then Lewis:-I don't go on AMOC that often and I can see this being handed out to the 100 longest beards

I will be attending and the car parking costs are not that relevant. I live in Devon so will be coming up for the weekend and the difference in in paying for car parking in a NCP or the AMOC event is not significant and will not change my view on what I think will be a spectacular event. For those in London it is perhaps more of an issue but I think it will be one of those events that if you don't go you will always wish that you had.
for your information...ncp car park just up the road....£15.00 to park all day Sunday , and they even let you take the car out when you want to IanV12VR said:
Hi Lewis, I've just done a reply to your question on the AMOC site - should have added that I have no idea if what I said is right but that's what they did at Windsor
Thanks Ian - looks like a no then I would think as no shortage of 2006 cars and my 3 days growth does not get me AMOC favours. The 'worthier' members will fill that spot very easily. Unless the 100 cars lined up is just 100 random Astons... all seems a bit vague at this point if the concours is again something different!By the way, your event at Filleigh looks like fun, my family live 3 miles away so I will try and be there

I think the odds are definitely better the rarer the car - it will be interesting to see how it is sorted in the end.By the way, your event at Filleigh looks like fun, my family live 3 miles away so I will try and be there
As for Filleigh - Yes, we had been hoping that you would be able to combine it with a visit to see your family. It would be great to have your car in the display. I think I should be able to give out more information on the event within the next month or so and will then get the info out on the AMOC site and for PH'ers to join in. What I like about it is that it's not just a static display and people will be able to join in the road rally's or the hillclimbs if they want a bit of fun The other positive for Area 20 is that we do not discriminate against people who do not have beards or owners of new cars or both

Hi Tony, not much use if your up there all weekend - oh!, and will there be a thread set up organising tours around close by NCP's so you can see the Aston's parked in them that are not being shown in Kensington Gardens ?
can be arranged.....for a £100 fee of course....tonyhall38 said:

I doubt I'll pay £75 to park in a regular place then as its £1.40 or so and 10mind on the tube from mine! If I'm 'involved' then sure, it's worth paying out for something special. But not to be parked up in a field for £75. StephenP said:
I was chatting to HQ on Friday about something else and did raise the confusion the original notice is causing re the 100 cars, etc so I think they are going to review the text to make it clearer.
I’d certainly like to take part, but can’t assess if it’s feasible or worth while taking my car. I do hope clarification follows soon. Perhaps it’s best to do as Nick is planning, and go in by train.
My view is that there are many events this year to attend. There's this, the AML/AMHT/AMOC Centenary display at Kensington Palace gardens (it’s not apparent if there’s actually a concours occurring and I say gardens because there's no mention of the palace being available for attendees to tour). There is also the AMOC Spring Concours at Royal Greenwich which is a concours and one assumes won't cost £75-£100, then there's Hever Castle which is a nice informal gathering of owners and always an excellent day out. Lastly I presume there will also be an autumn concours? Last summer’s Windsor Castle display was free and well attended. I have signed up for the 'Grand European Tour' which although expensive looks like it will be memorable, Schlumph Museum, Swiss mountain passes, Italian lakes, Monza, Mille Miglia museum, Riems etc. So with all this occurring I will not be going to Kensington that day simply because I find paying £75 to park in the ironically named "Perks Field" goes against the grain when one can park in an NCP at the hotel next door for £25 on Sunday all day. But more generally what irks is that these events are usually open to the public and draw an interested crowd which is fine, those who were at Windsor Castle will have seen this. This obviously broadens the awareness of the various clubs and without the owners displaying their cars there would be no event yet we are asked to pay a premium for the pleasure of creating the event. Windsor got it about right to me, the display was free and the premium concours cost to get in, by contrast the Kensington event seems a somewhat ill conceived.

Not to mention the JLC trip via Beaune and the Black Forest which coincides with the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin and the 180th anniversary of JLC
And of course the Silverstone Classic Weekend where Aston Martin is the celebrated mark and similarly Carfest North and South. StephenP said:

Well done Stephen... Think we'd all like a bit of clarification about it; I kind of have no idea what's going on, we just know that its expensive! Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
