Stopped reading after this bit :

"The only modern-day Aston Martin rarer than the £1.15million One-77 hypercar, is the stunning V12 Vantage Zagato.

Just 101 will be made"

Yet again affirms the stupidity at Auto Express!!

For the benefit of Jack Rix, 101 is a BIGGER number than 77 and therefore NOT rarer.

Also, when talking about 'modern' Astons, he has forgotten the DB7 Zagato, for which I believe only 99 were made?

I also noticed that.

Although, to be fair, in the review itself, the journo does state that it is 'nearly as rare' as the one-77.

The Zagato is growing on me a lot. I always liked it from the front, but the back does seem to be getting better looking. Would be nice if they could do without the spoiler though.

I really want them to do a convertible version, DB-AR1 style cool

yes you can get in RHD

removal of rear spoiler is most common customer request but can't be done. neither can an enlargement of the airscoops behind the fron wheels to make them more like the racecar/showcar - the second most popular customer request !

I was seriously interested right from the start but price went up 50% and the suggested improvements in performance over V12V were abandoned so I quickly lost interest......and the ability to afford it ! :-)

They were originally to make up to 150 based on demand and whilst the original deadline for deposits was extended massively, I believe they have sold all or certainly the majority of the 101 finally announced

Growing on me too George, but I prefer the rear to the front, oddly (cue Navy Lark jokes)rolleyes. Front looks a bit like a basking shark. Wouldn't say no, though.

And that makes your car an absolute bargain if one considers they have produced the same number of each yes

It's a hard one - you could argue that, or you could argue that my bodyshape is a derivative of a derivative whereas zagato is unique

Having said that, v12vr is the car I wanted all along - I have emails stretching back over 2 yrs talking about the viability of this car and even approached works about a complete on-off ! it's my dream car, so I'm more than happy

Now if they did a zag droptop with a proper folding roof (i.e. not like AR1), that may be a different matter :-)

Funny that, because you would have thought not fitting it, would equal removal.
I wonder if it is because holes in the body would have to be filled.

Someone at AM told me it started to lift from about 140 kph.
They looked into a Cayman-style wing, but found it too expensive to re-engineer.

Nope, they're the V12 Vantage winter wheels (it's the same rim, I know).

Winter wheel kit is suspect - looks cold on the vid.

That is one beautiful car by any standards.

The wheels/tyres didn't seem terribly wide.

exactly. to all ! by removal, I meant not fitting at all, but as has been said, the car simply couldn't stay in the road without it so they refuse to build any zags without the spoiler
