Seeing Georges thread about his gearbox made me think we could post about random things your car does. Pulling barmaids, making skirts rise and knickers drop doesn't count here.

Mine, well a week ago it decided it was -30 outside.... next thing I'm sitting in a tropical jungle, so off goes the auto climate control (which seems ste at the best of times). The problem does seem to be getting better, almost like the sensor is relearning.....

Oh, and the handbrake really does like to pretend its on and warn me on the dash, when it definitely isn't.

Next.

The obvious when it has been raining, you open the boot and the water goes straight into the boot from the hatch mad

Not something that is just with my car but all V8V as far as I am aware, just one of those things frown

Not my current one but the DB7 I used to have, I put it in reverse and it revved itself up shot backwards like I'd floored the throttle, even the brakes wouldn't stop it and I was forced to knock it into neutral to stop.

Mine says 10 to the gallon. Clearly a fault as the manual claims 18 I think!

The computer also said I would do 230 mines on a tank, and after 70 the tank is half empty.

£30 at a dealer to fit the two rubber rain channels on the sides of the hatchback. Works great.

I've occasionally had a warning that the tyre pressure monitoring system wasn't working - then the yellow warning light that stays on after pressing the Read button goes out after a while.

My V8V randomly beeps at me. Took me ages to work out what it was, turns out its a speed camera warning. Well, it certainly happens every time I get near a fixed camera. Weird thing is, nowhere can I find it in any manual, and it'd be an odd thing to get aftermarket.

It also makes my wife frown every time I get it serviced or pull up for fuel, but I don't think that's odd biggrin

The drivers side rear window decided not to go up with the roof once. And another time it decided to stay up when the roof went down.

Battery issues are usually the cause of my woes... After a jump start, I have to remember to NOT put the roof down... it unlatches, moves two inches and then says ROOF FAILURE. Can't put it up or down from there!

About 10-15mins, working it back and forth manually and releasing the hydraulic pressure all tried, usually it is just engine off, engine on, engine off, engine on... Not great when you have jump started the car though!

And the satnav is sometimes convinced it s 10-12 miles away from where it actually is...

Plus 1
Laid car up for 3 weeks because of snow, first drive it told me it was in need of a service ( just serviced in November) and the tpms system error message came on along with tyre light. Dealer advised drive for a few miles and it will re synchronise. It did and I smiled with relief. But happened again yesterday frown hasn't resynchronised again yet sadly. Needs testing in November I can live with it until then to allow more random issues to develop and have them fixed at once.

Mark - are you talking about your sat nav ???

If so, the speed camera function only works if you have a route planned. A possible remedy for this is to delete the route that you last planned so that it knows you have arrived ??????

Apologies if I am misreading this smile

Why would you want to disable it?! Sounds brilliant.

On a similar topic, I found out today I can't get done for speeding from when I went past the unmarked police car. They haven't sent anything to the dealer and it's been 14 working days biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Agreed on the sat nav point, though I may be mistaken as surely you would hear the navigational instructions too confused

Congrats on the speeding issue...I know you will be more careful next time wink

scratchchin Maybe. It would be nice to get a speed camera warning noise only option.

I plan on being more careful - as in I'll look out for unmarked police cars before I speed in future biggrin

No, you're spot on chum. I'll check it tomorrow, as I understand it is still active despite not being selected on ie up and that the routes stay in. I'll get deleting tomorrow pal, thank you so much as this has been driving me mad! thumbup
