My speedo clock binnacle has developed a crack in the corner which is damm annoying.

My dealer and AM won't help even though i bought the car a month ago so bad luck maybe.

Im looking to source a replacement clock does any one have one spare a big ask maybe?
Also can anyone confirm that the front plastic part can un clip off the clock as that's all i really need,i can source a front but costly and i just need to know that they can un clip before i part with my money.

If they can't part easy enough if i buy a s/h clock what about the mileage this would be in correct.

Thanks for any advice on this.

Suggest you contact astonmartinbits.com they are much cheaper than dealers. How did it crack as I've never see one damaged like that.

I just checked your profile Paul....... It seems you may be in a better position than most to get this sorted....smile

Strange that the dealer isn't interested.... Maybe you need to remind them of that when it comes to service time, and take it elsewhere..

Is he in a better position to get this sorted because he has only had the car for 2 weeks? or is it he could take his servicing business elsewhere when the car is due a service?

Why is it strange that the dealer isn't interested? has anyone had similar problems with dealers after they purchased their cars, or is it this particular dealer?

He's in a better position, because if you check his profile, he's in the glass cutting and supply business....I made the assumption that he may have a contact who could help from his line of work....

As for the dealer not being interested, after only 2 weeks of ownership on a car of that value.... Seems a bit short sighted to me....

Is that explanation ok for you, or do you have any more questions..??

If the cover was glass then i might be able to source it but as it's plastic no im stumped.

Also im assuming all the clocks are the same so any would fit??

I couldn't say if they're all the same or not..... But I'm almost certain that the mileage thing could be an issue...

Surprised to hear the Dealer won't take a longer term view on this one frown

My original warranty lapsed last March. In June I noticed flaking wing mirror stalks and my Dealer negotiated on my behalf for £600 of new parts...foc.

I shall be using them again for future work.

Good luck with the repair Paul smile

Wow. that is remarkable. I have never heard anyone have that split. I assume it is plastic and not glass? Shocked by the dealer to not at least quote you how much it would be as surely they would know, but did you get it from a dealer who does not usually sell astons?

On the plus side it is in the corner, however I bet you notice it a lot now frown

Hope you get it sorted.

As my dealer is not going to post here i will try and balance things.

The dealer won't fit S/H parts so a new binnacle from AM £1400+vat+labour.
As i didn't spot the crack before i bought the car i assume it wasn't there. The dealer has no obligation to replace this.
Aston Martin say it's out of warranty.

As a moral obligation with the dealer that's upto them.
And yes i do get my servicing done there and i am going to get the glass buttons replaced later.
Where i go with the dealer from here im not sure but you can guess im pissed off about this but still respect the dealer for there stand on this.

I am in business to and i can see both sides.

Is this a non-AM dealer?

And there's no warranty at all? Even after a fortnight? Not even any goodwill?

If it was me, I'd tell the dealer principal how short-sighted they were being and walk.

From the images under his profile I know which dealer he got his car from and it is an AM dealer.
