'Q' are they from another planet !

Insane behavior considering the modifications on that mat purple Virage Volante.

It seems that Aston are trying to reduce significantly the choices available in the course of ordering a car. A couple years ago, the configurator would allow a bewildering array of choices for everything, now it is far, far more limited, even for the Vanquish.
What was a choice of literally millions combinations of options before, now seems to be a 'check with Q' process, or should I say lack of process?
When my car was built back in 2008, it seems the factory was glad to make even 'non-available option' changes as the car traveled the factory floor, and anything that couldn't be accomplished as a running change at the factory simply got sorted by Works Service.
Oh well, times have changed I guess...

They do that sort of thing all the time. There are now an awful lot of us and more every day who would not dream of taking our cars anywhere else
And while you're there... Just have a quick look at the catalyst and manifold package
I think there is close to 600bhp in a DB9.2 ready to be liberated
600bhp,,,yeti,,,there's sooo much more fun, yet to come!!And while you're there... Just have a quick look at the catalyst and manifold package

Your DB9 has the new style VCT controlled V12 which in the 310quish engine makes 565bhp and in the Rapide makes 550bhp. No reason yours won't do the same even with Aston spec cats and manifolds... Just a few adjustments for a man who knows what he's looking at... Unlikely the head work is different. Then with BR spec gear, there should be an extra 40bhp ready to go, there always is

I like the sound of that 600bhp and the DB9 Mk2 suggestion. I'm the first to admit, I'm no technical expert but the new DB9 bhp leapfrogs the Virage and lands pretty much where the now defunct DBS used to sit. Does that justify my Mark 2 contention,,,,I'm sure the concensus opinion will soon be before our very eyes. Then with BR spec gear, there should be an extra 40bhp ready to go, there always is

Yeti, if Mike opens the stable door to those extra horses, will they help produce the same unbelievably insane exhaust sound of the Vanquish? Then with BR spec gear, there should be an extra 40bhp ready to go, there always is

Different manifold design on Vanquish to DB9. But by varying the lenth of the collectors (mine has long hand-made and very intricate F1 style ones, Cockers has a shorter simpler design) you can go from the scream of the One-77 to the roar of a WWII fighter plane. It's all your choice, it's just varying the length of the pipework to achieve the power and sound you prefer yeti said:
