N400 Sill Fitting (Video)
Discussion
Appologies if the video is a bit disjointed, but I had to see how it all went back together before I could film.... then when its all back in one piece I don't want to pull it appart again... so this Video is just a few pointers... the next one will have a lot more detail on removal and re-fitting...
One side now complete and very please with the results..

I have no mechanical experience what so ever, nor would I ever even entertain putting oil in my vehicle, so would let a garage do it, yet I am always drawn to your videos and marvel at how someone can, with a "how hard can it be" attitude, and determination do so much work on their own car. Please keep the videos coming as I for one really enjoy them.

Thanks for the comments guys......you'll be pleased to hear this is the final video.. hopefully it shows enough detail for anyone who fancies having a go themselves, and if it helps a few owners out... Then job done
Just like to make a comment on how helpful HWM Aston have been with this project..
Firstly they gave me a great price on the sills, and secondly when I rang up today to order the missing clip, the chap said it would cost more to raise an invoice than the part was worth, and so he's sending it FOC..... Which was very kind...
I am annoyed that the clip is missing though...I mean why wouldn't you replace a 50p part and do the job right
All that's left for me to do now, is some final adjustment, clean all the wheel liners, refit them and do a final check of all the fasteners....
Despite a little bit of frustration along the way, I've really enjoyed doing this upgrade... I reconn its going to really give my car a fresh more up to date look.... And I can't wait to see it back on the ground, outside in the daylight...

Great video.
When you jacked up the car you said you used two jacks one either side. Did you raise the front a bit, fit axle stands, then jack the rear up? I assume you kept going from bow to stern until you got it at your desired height?
Sounds stupid, but just wanting to double check my understanding.
Cheers

Yes Andy that's exactly how I did it
Drove front of the car up some low plastic ramps just to get a little height at the front.... Then a jack either side, and lifted until I could get a pair of axle stands under on their lowest setting..
Then moved the jacks to the back, and same again, lifted until I could get a pair of stands under on the lowest setting...
Then back to the front of the car and lift a couple if inches, reset the stands, and back to the rear and so on...
All axle stands fitted with thick rubber conveyor material, where they meet the chassis... 2 reasons... Prevent scratching, and help stop any slipping...
