All private plates are beyond awful IMO, let alone the 007 designation.

I wonder if some people have had a sense of humour by-pass. Come on, what a subject to get worked up about. I don't like pink cars but they still make me laugh.

Well..I must truly be a complete Knob. Not only do I wear an Omega Seamaster Pro but my DB9 has a private plate 'DG 07 SPY'. I don't think I am James Bond and I gave actually being a SPY when I left the military.

I like it when people look at my car, take photographs and guess what??? 'Smile' at my '07 SPY' numberplate. I have always had private plates.. 'V4 XKR' on my XKR, 'K9 DRG' when I had 2 German Shepherds and to top it off my wife has 'G6 VRS' (GG VRS) on her Octavia VRS.

It is a personal choice and it's all about FUN and making people smile. (And look at your car).

^^ Nice smile

Aston Martin have probably made millions from the accidental product placement with James Bond and now Aston Martin/Bond/007 are synonymous. For those who don't like that - tough!! Get over it!!

Oh and Omega Seamasters are great watches too!

I am not sure it was accidental product placement. I think they paid for it!

I really do not understand the hate of 007 plates. I had one on my Vantage (VO07 AMV) and it got a great reaction from people. . Now have a V12 plate because I like it better on my current car but it wouldn't stop me putting it back on the car in future.

I understood that originally, Aston Martin were not supportive of EON using a DB5...

Here's an interesting article...

I think it's hilarious that some folks can get wound up over a few letters and numbers....rofl

I get wound up when I read about human rights violations in China, starving kids in Africa, and Americans in generalhehe

Random numbers and letters on a car...... Well for some reason, I can't seem to have much of an opinion really, other than do what you want and stuff everyone elsethumbup

'wound up' ?.
It's an opinion, that's all. Something I'd never contemplate owning, along with a Breitling, an Evoque or a range rover sport.
Doesn't make it wrong, just not for me.

The other day, my gf and i were driving along in sth ken and a chap drove by with a db9 which had a 007 plate. My gf is not overly into car things picked up on it and said:

'he must have a really tiny knob'...

I laughed out loud for full minute.

She could not have summed my thoughts any better.

My car has a v12v type plate which was on it when i bought it. Would prob not have bothered otherwise. If my car had a 007 when i bought it, it would have gone in a flash.

I didn't look at the plate but those sport pack alloys look so right on a DB9. Must create some man maths half arsed reason why £3k on 4 wheels is a good idea.

I know, standard DVLA plate, came with the car in December 72.
If I could change it I would, but that would effect originality and so I am stuck with it.

I am thinking of having them done in Matt Black or a Titanium tint colour.
