I love the shop name 'On the Run', perhaps what the Corsa driver should have done.

At the sort of speeds those rounabouts usually have, I can't see how you cross the island, a lane of traffic, the pavement and hit a car at the pumps. Obviously it's possible, but this seems to be a "blithering wilful idiot" rather than "an accident".

The only thought I have is this.
Pink car exits the garage and reaches the left hand roundabout (you have to go that way, you cannot turn right). So traffic frequently goes round the roundabout to go back up kings hill.
Pink car over commits, loses control on the exit of the roundabout and thumps the island.
That impact breaks the front offside suspension, and drags the car across the lane of traffic approaching the roundabout and into the garage.

Not quite sure how fast you'd need to be going to manage that....

Does a DBS have a carbon chassis/bodywork?
From what I can see the Corsa must have been going some to get anywhere near the Aston... http://goo.gl/maps/OlSuU ...as there is quite a lot of street furniture potentially in the way. Managed to get it over a traffic island, up the kerb, and neatly between the lamp post and the street sign. I can't see how it might have managed to do all that distance after the first impact if the driver had been paying any sort of attention.

"Ooh, look Shaz, Tracy's changed her status from single, to in a relationshaaaaaaaaaaargh {bump up, over island, narrowly miss road sign, bump down} aaaaaaaaarrrrgh {bump up kerb, narrowly miss lamp post and street sign} nnnnrrrrrgh {SMASH!!!} WTF? One minute I was checkin' Facebook, next this fool in his fancy car pulls out right in front of me. I had no chance!"

Oh well. At least no one was injured. As others have said, a crash onto a forecourt, especially when fuel was being dispensed, could have had far more serious consequences.

As an aside, how many different shades of pink can you get on one small car? And what on earth possesses anyone to darken the rear light lenses like that. They're a feckin safety device, not a feckin fashion accessory FFS. At least the Corsa should be off the road now. I struggle to believe that that thing could have been roadworthy at the time of the accident.

New questions appearing on confused.com;

  • Have you painted your car pink?
  • Have you dyed your hair pink?
  • Have you dyed your cat pink?

I suspect you may have nailed it.

I fear that Mr Jimmy Bond is going to be settling this one himself by the time the insurers have inspected the unmodified silver Corsa which was on the insurance certificate.....

She must have effectively done a U-turn from the garage exit round the roundabout - wonder if she lifted from clog down in second on the exit from the roundabout and spun.

3rd party would still be covered, no? The insurer may go after the corsa owner for the cost of that, but Mr Bond should be ok?

Aye - you're right of course.

I doubt she's got any money though.

I've heard of people having corsa's on their car but this is a bit too far.....

Sorry, I'll get my coat. Hope the DBS owner gets full compensation and the car is put back as it was. Is it anyone on here?

Those astons must be worth feck all if a little prang like that can write one off !!!
You could only hope it is a write off and he gets it replaced with equivalency. The moment a category is associated with that car, it will lose a huge amount of its value. He has my sympathy.
If it is beyond repair, the value of the car will also be of dispute I would expect. I can see it now, a cheque based on Glasses guide... LOL.
If its not written off, then 'Sheila's Wheels' will want to use their approved repair center, I don't think so....
If repaired, even by Aston, I would strongly go after losses due to diminished value and/or consequential losses.
You think your insurance should cover you if you hit my car? You'd better hope so.

It's not the value its the repair cost
If a prang splits any of the high temperature bonding on the tub the repair bill is astronomical!
