Just been to Halfords as I needed to replenish my Autoglym supplies and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are having a 3 for 2 offer on any car cleaners.

So I purchased Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner 2.5 Litre and a Autoglym Custom Wheel Clean Kit and as it was 3 for 2 I got another Custom Wheel Clean Kit and that was free thumbup

So if anyone needs some more Autoglym cleaning products, get yourself to Halfords and make use of the 3 for 2 offer. yes

Haha, good old tony. You're right, don't let it near your lovely DBS.

The custom wheel cleaner isn't bad, but I wouldn't use the shampoo, as it's quite harsh.

Next, we will have people satin how good the drying blades are.......

Halfords have been doing "3 for 2" offers on car cleaning stuff (any brand) for as long as I can remember. It makes up for the fact they are so bloody expensive to start with.

If you wouldn't use the shampoo, what do you use, as I have found it to be ok really?

Haven't used that stuff in over 10 years. I found Autoglym products looked nice for about a day but really didn't last. Might appeal to some though.

Firstly, megs gold class it horrible stuff. I used to use it before I got into detailing and have since found that its rubbish, even worse than the autoglym stuff. What you need is a shampoo that cleans well, doesn't contain lots of silicas and won't strip existing protection. My all time favourite shampoo is Swissvax car bath, but it's not cheap and because of this, I doubt any here will buy it. However, there are other options.

Firstly, autofinesse lather:

But for an extra £20, you get 5l of the stuff instead of 500ml!

Then there is dodo juice supernatural, which has a high dilution rate:

Or if you want a shampoo that builds its own layer of protection over time, then the nanolex one is for you:

I've just started using these wash mitts and they are amazingly soft and safe to your paint:

These products seem ok as they do make the car look better than it was before cleaning but what. I've noticed after having Francis (paddy) do my car is that it's really easy to keep clean. It takes 30 minutes to make it look great and with very little effort (which is ideal because when I clean the Aston my wife then asks me to clean her cars and I hate cleaning cars )

I spent a small fortune on the products Francis recommended but they do last a long time and mean its minimal effort on my part to make the car look good again.

Using Autogrim on an Aston is a bit like getting King Herod to do your baby sitting.

Is it that bad?? so why do AM endorse it, if it is so scensorede??

I really haven't had a problem with the shampoo, it washes my car and doesn't leave any marks etc on it. I also use the custom wheel cleaner which is excellent and has no acid content so doesn't harm my alloys. I also use the instant tyre dressing too as it does a good job.

I have also used the engine and machine cleaner and the vinyl and rubber care in my engine bay which has made it a lot cleaner and it looks ok.

I'm not into detailing to extremes, I just want to make my AM look nice, which I think the Autoglym does for me.

I hate these threads, I just bought some of the Nanoflex stuff - cost me £18 hehe

Oh I've used AG leather care for 13 years on my TVR and it's excellent, doesn't shine and seems to have maintained them perfectly.

Once you've used some of the stuff Paddy talks about, which in the long run IMO will prove to be more economical, you won't go back. To be fair, Fast Glass isn't bad, I use it to clean the oven hob.

I've spent thousands over the years on products, latest trends etc, but when I recommend a product, I do so because I know it works. The things I suggest more often than not cost more than the Halfords type stuff, but this is because you get what you pay for. They will do a better, safer job and will last longer, making it better financial sense in the long run.
