Is my Aston faulty?
Discussion
Ive had my DB9 for a year now. During that time its done 10,000 trouble free miles. Its started every time whatever the weather despite living outside in the open. The battery hasnt gone flat - even when left for 3 weeks. Ive put petrol in from whichever station I happened to be passing including supermarkets without misfires. Ive been on a number of spirited drives. I've driven through floods, snow and 25 degree heatwaves. The only warning lights Ive had on are traction control and brake wear indicator. It hasnt once broken down or left me stranded. Is this normal or should I get it checked out.
Before buying an Aston I was concerned about reliability and ongoing maintenance costs and to some extent with the DB7 I had before there were some issues, but with this one its trouble free. The only costs Ive incurred have been
Fuel - around 4k
Front & rear pads approx. 400
6l of Mobil 1 oil approx. - 60
Spray paint for mirrors - 10
Two rear tyres - 450
Service due this month - 525
Optional Stuff
Cleaning - 5 quid wash & Polish every couple of weeks or so.
2nd set of wheels with new winter tyres - 2k
2nd hand H&K Springs & dampers (ex-yeti via stevewushu) not got round to fitting yet - 500
Under bumper front scrub strip - 100
Hours wasted on the PH AM forum when I should be working - OMFG
Overall very pleased with the above.
Edit: someone seems to have stolen all my apostrophes!! Thank fk I didn't post this in the lounge or I would now be tied to a stake with flames wafting around my testicles.

Steve, that did make me laugh! Mine has been exactly the same, are we unique? My only observation and it is not a complaint is Purdey's voracious appetite for tyres. 6 in 12000 miles and a set of rear pads. The magic of Aston Martin ownership is as strong as ever! I love my car!
In fact I have had no problems with either my Virage or my DB9 but I am touching wood as I type this.Tony V12V said:

If only ....... 6 rears Well let me quantify that, 4 rears worn out so 6,000 each pair.

Hi Mike, how are you?
Before I start looking at increasing power the first upgrade I "need" are brakes, I've experienced them fading on a couple of occasions which is not funny when you are behind someone in a V12V who has carbon brakes at close to three figures and they stop suddenly for sheep and you very nearly can't. Hi Tony it's moments like that make you glad you chose dark coloured leather
