Hi folks,
I've been a regular on here for a few years now (Vantage Coupe for 2 years, currently selling my Roadster I've had for 2 years).
Sadly the Roadster has to go, the wife's due date is 3 weeks today! I've had the car in the classifieds for 3-4 weeks now and quite fairly priced, I think. I've also recently put it on Autotrader to see if that generates more interest as I've had only a few enquiries which surprises me a bit.

The point of my post is a question really, the car's got to go in the next 2 weeks (family wagon arriving!) so I've been offering it up to dealers. Car is very well presented but will need two new rear tyres and service is due in June. Grange AM in Exeter have offered £38,500 having crawled all over the car - is this a fair value?!

Some other dealers have said they can't match that offer as it's a competitive one but should I keep trying others? I must admit it is certainly better than the £32k I was offered back in October!! Exeter said its the right colours, with the right low mileage and service history and the right time of year to sell hence they know they'd have it and flog it in a matter of days. Should I take their offer or hold out for better dealer offers?!

Cheers folks.

Really need more details to be able to judge.

Age, miles, service history? What were you asking for it in the adverts?

All details please but 32k to 38.5k is a big jump.

Weather is just starting to turn better so grange know a drop top will shift at a premium price!

Edit: I'm assuming this is it?

Looks very clean and has a good spec. If you can squeeze 40k then take it? I'm assuming 38.5k is their max i.e. non-negotiable?

Looks a good offer to me. Sure they will sell for 5-8k more but with cost of tyres, service, warranty etc they will need to.

Not a fan of all those negatives in your advert. (Sportshift, Satnav, Baby on way, April deadline) Do nothing to help you sell or get near your asking price.

Look what you are currently competing with:- http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

I know which I would go for at that price range (A year younger, already serviced & MOT and from a dealer!)

If that is your ad snap Granges hand off
You are a victim of the weather and it being a roadster a few more months and you will get the money.
A private buyer will haggle then knock the tyres off £600 and a service £600-1000 depending on which service is due.

+1 - seems like a VERY strong offer to me, get it sold and good luck with the imminent arrival! smile

Thanks folks,
That is indeed my car and I appreciate the feedback. I guess I was just hoping for similar offers from other dealers nearer what I'm after, within 10% is pretty good though.
I'll give them a call in the next few days and will be sad to wave goodbye probably at the weekend.

Hand on heart the future owner will not be disappointed in getting a well looked after car, which in my mind is why I was expecting a bit more interest from private buyers.

If anyone on here is interested I'd suggest getting in touch with Grange (Exeter) sometime next week! (Or PM me beforehand!)
