Sounds like there may be some clutch disc material or manufacture variance then I imagine.
Did the shorten the reverse gear in later models out of interest?
Sorry to hijack thread.
The reverse gear has a high ratio hence the smell of burning when reversing uphill which will do little to promote cluth life. I hdont know if this has been resolved with the S coming out.Did the shorten the reverse gear in later models out of interest?

Did you agree with this diagnosis, Josh?
Hi. Just to bring this all away from the topic of man juice. Had no choice really the dealer wasn't interested in helping and even went to AM HQ same answer. Fair wear and tear. Eventually cost the dealer though both the next vantage and then the db9 I bought from somewhere else

The easiest fix is to buy a Porsche
Well this has been going through my head a lot recently. I love the vantage but am fed up to the back teeth with the frequency of issues I've experienced, Yes they have all been fairly minor in nature ( the usual known issues, some now repeating) and fixed under warranty, BUT it drains you arranging to have them fixed and takes the shine off ownership. I didn't go longer than two month without an issue in the first three years and that pattern has continued.Just a month out of warranty a tyre pressure sensor went and now the external temperature sender has gone ( again), and a door handle paint issue repaired under warranty is showing signs of repeating. Every time I use it I wonder if anything else is going to go wrong. I know the clutch is upstream, something I've never worried about on any other car.
I am, at this moment very tempted by the Dark Side, not least of which is because of the build quality of my wife's new Boxster PDK.
