Vantage SP10 anyone?

this is very tempting. One small gripe though, why have a car where the main point of difference is the gearbox and build a sportshift car to show it off!
Assuming it's be the regular V8V gearstick, or maybe the V12V one will be on it/an option?
Also, when did the premium audio go to 750w? I always thought it was 700w.
I am not sure what gearstick will be in it, but I have a V12V one anyway so will just swap. As for the audio, good point. May be a typo, but I am happy with my ordinary audio at the moment so anything is better plus I usually don't listen to it anyway.Assuming it's be the regular V8V gearstick, or maybe the V12V one will be on it/an option?

As for the gearbox point though, once again it's either a poorly thought out strategy over Vantage 'editions' (I'm referring to S, standard and Sp10) or a change of initial direction
When S came out, it was launched as an improved, more hardcore car, not just to showcase the new gearbox, but also aero, suspension, steering rack ratio, etc
IMO they really screwed up when the regular vantage was then refreshed with the bulk of the S upgrades either standard or available as an option, particularly with the discount strategy, as the differentiation between the 2 models was then not strong enough
There was a strong case for 2 vantage models, with differences somewhere between the equivalent of a regular compared to an S 911 and an S compared to a GT3. They could have made the price difference more too
But I suspect the vantage is to be replaced soon and the SP10 is just a way to generate sales at a very attractive price point for a well loaded vantage - it's UK launch now just makes my feelings on an imminent replacement stronger, though as there have been no hints or spy shots, I may just be reading into the launch what I want to ...
Either way, logical arguments about how sensible the different gearbox choices are become less of an issue, now that both S and non S can be had with both boxes

Two things come to mind - F type will start appearing on roads very soon and/or this the beginning of emptying the parts bin ready for new Vantage???
Either way not handled well IMO - but nothing surprises me about Aston at the moment!!!
both IMO - bez has already stated 2 new models to be launched at pebble beach in augustEither way not handled well IMO - but nothing surprises me about Aston at the moment!!!

I thought the SP10 wasn't for sale in the UK?
Well you should not think so much then - the SP10 most definitely is for sale in the UK "I have an Aston Martin Vantage, exceeding the speed limit in a goods vehicle model".
UK sales numbers were well up in January, but unfortunately it has been down hill since then. Could that be the reason for the 'about turn'?

interest in vanquish dropped dramatically, more than enough v12V coupes in the system, DB9 mis-understood, no great centenary announcements - not surprising sales are down
about turn could be anything - marketing is without question the poorest department at AML, though that could simply be because they are messed around so much by other departments

Both IMO - Dr. Bez has already stated 2 new models to be launched at Pebble Beach in August.
It would be wonderful in the 100th, to have a really exciting surprise launch. Not just a Vanquish Volante, plus an existing model with bells on.

I agree with adam that vanquish volante will be on of the new models
I also agree that there will be a new v12v, but I see it in a different context - either as part of a wider range of new vantages i.e. part of the replacement range, or as the swansong to vantage with new vantage announced at the same time - either way the more significant thing is new vantage in general, not a boosted v12v. I think a boosted v12v will be part of the new shape, not the current one if i had to guess but it is just a guess
Incidentally, despite the fact the website had nothing last time I looked and gaydon wont even confirm SP10 is available in the UK, I can confirm now that SP10 is available with BOTH gearboxes and in ANY colour, deliveries have already started, much to the bemusement of dealers
So it replaces S, at a lower pricepoint and with more kit. In one fail swoop, making standard vantage and S completely redundant. With no v12v coupes available to factory order, SP10 is effectively the only vantage you can currently order. Enhances even more my thoughts that vantage replacement is imminent

Vanquish Volante and V12 Vantage S Coupe would be my bet...
Could be a good shout about the V12VS, dealer said to me last week that sportshift is coming out on the V12V.jonby said:

My wish, is that a Vantage replacement has a significantly different body.I know that the current DB9 does incorporate many changes, but at a passing glance, it looks almost the same as in 2004.
The regular launch hype from many manufacturers, 'our new car has more this, stronger that, every panel is different, wider something', really doesn't wash when the car looks almost the same as before.
Old news it was launched in Feb and we had going over of it then.

George probably recalls that as it was intended just for the EU excluding UK

Hasn't done the 911 any harm. To be honest, I think when you get a design so 'right' from an aesthetic or performance view then I really enjoy the evolution not revolution process. That one way to define true design classics in my opinion, be it a toaster, reading light or a car.I know that the current DB9 does incorporate many changes, but at a passing glance, it looks almost the same as in 2004.

Manual S deliveries have started but I don't think SP10 deliveries have. I was also not offered any colour choices on the SP10 other than ceramic grey. whoami said:

Are you sure?I've been discussing the possibility of a V12V with no mention of not being able to order one.
