I recently purchased a v8 vantage. I bought an '06 car. For me it was about each individual car, an '07 would have been a marginal bonus, but I bought the best car, which happened to be an '06. Would I have bought a slightly worse condition/history/mile car that was an '07? No.Eamonn64 said:

The updates are more than just the stitching. Weigh it up against value as the previous poster stated.Personally, I found the 07MY a better buy.
Same mileage, same spec, pay 5k more for a newer car? Yup, seems good to me.
Do you know the full list of changes from 06MY to 07MY?
Didn't think there was that much of a difference between an '06 and a '56/'07 plate, but 5k seems a lot to justify between the two. My car is an '07 model year and I did look for one when I bought last year, I liked the look of the new style seats and find them comfortable. However, others have said in the past that the older seats were more comfy, have a try in both, see what you prefer.
IMO 4.3 prices will close up so there won't be as big a gap between years, What is your budget? FWIW if I was buying now from scratch I would save a bit more and get into an early 4.7.

Thanks......yes, I am aware of all the 07 changes. my point regarding the seats was by way of an example. Agree it's essentially down to individual cars...I guess my question is primarily due to many decent 06 cars stickered at circa £33k whereas 07 seem to be late 30s early 40s....no right answer, merely curious in points of view. Personally, I found the 07MY a better buy.

Not quite the same, but I recently part ex my 2006 DB9 Volante with 20k miles for a 2008 DB9 Volante with 13k miles at Grange Exeter.
Old car needed a service,had run out of warranty and needed taxing. New car was serviced, warranted and taxed.
Upgrade in year models was very noticable.Better seats, better phone, front parking sensors etc.It has always been said that the mark seems to make improvements every year and fixes the niggles.
One of the biggest factors was the cost to change which I managed to haggle down to £8900
Considering I needed to spend £2500 plus on mine it would of been madness not to proceed.
If you can get the right deal it is always worth getting a newer vehicle imho.

...Just to add to the mix, you could get a FAMSH low mileage Roadster for the very low 40s, now that'd definitely be worth the premium; not that I'm bias or have one to sell or anything! if you buy Grants book then it details all the differences
personally I never managed to justify the +£40K or so to upgrade my 2006 4.3 to a 4.7
I had the 4.3 from 10 months old, there were only a few on the used market at the time, and have had many good miles out of it. When you drive the newer cars they are indeed better in lots of small ways, but its not £40K of "better" or "different " experience ...not to me anyway
Now the gap is getting closer all the time, the cost to change has come down, it might be more likely...particularly for a £50K 4.7 roadster ...maybe
