Iron Ore ( or similar) interiors don't do it for me at all. I was looking on Autotrader the other day and the number of nice looking cars with a hideous looking red interiors is a surprise! According to Stratstone Wilmslow Iron Ore was the launch colour of the DB9 interior and hence it has a following. Some may like it, but it is not something I could live with!

On that lovely new car it is a real shame.

I was at the Aston factory about 6 weeks ago on a tour and their was a car with a BRIGHT PINK and I really mean BRIGHT (no pics allowed!) so I suppose it could have been worse!

I test drove this many years ago at a garage in Nottingham. A 1982 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S finished in 'hot' pink over a blue leather interior. This car was originally owned by Jeff White, who ordered these colors because they corresponded to the pink of his girlfriend's sweat-shirt while the blue leather matched the color of her belt. The garage eventually painted it white do get rid of it. Can't remember the name of the garage but they used to sell quite a few exotics back in the 80's

Fantastic looking thing (not a huge fan of the colour though).

I think that Iron Ore as an interior is fine (can look great) just as it is of course reasonable for you not to like it

The issue surely isn't the iron ore though, or even the fact (IMHO) it doesn't go great with the yellow exterior (which I think from outside looks great, though it would have been better IMO if the chrome bits had been black/carbon)

The issue (for me) is that iron ore, black cherry inserts, two tone steering wheel and yellow stitching look like a dog's dinner !! Too many colours, in too many different places, with lots of clashing and not much co-ordinated contrasting. The 'stripes' as I look across the photo, made up of iron ore and black cherry, from outer seat bolster to inner seat to bolster again, to carpet, to centre console, then the same again the other side of the car, look terrible ! The yellow stitching makes it look even worse and as for the steering wheel.......

The interior has black cherry, iron ore, yellow, black & chrome. At least one too many colours !

I don't normally make such comments on someone else's P&J and I'm sure they couldn't give a monkeys what I think but for me, it's not so much that it's tasteless (which I may not like, but taste is just that), but more that it simply doesn't work, unless the aim was to have something that looks 'wrong'

For anyone still wondering, I don't like it ! :-)

Aye carumba cool

I applaud their bold choice while simulataneaously admitting I couldn't live with that... perhaps it's better in the metal...

I'd rather have it than 'James Bond Resale' grey and suicide black though yes
quoted for future reference wink

Would be a lot better if they just went black inside with yellow stitching

bit garish for my personal taste but still reckon it works massively better than the one in the OP

mikey is right that black with yellow stitch is best, maybe tan would work, for that matter I'd never order it but full green interior would work with sunburst yellow better than this concoction !

black cherry & iron ore interior is perhaps OK but the two tone seats in black cherry & iron ore are just wrong and as for the yellow stitch.....

You sure that's not Lord's Red with Iron Ore inserts? Iron Ore is pretty dark and the car's interior is too light, surely.

I've seen Italian cars that were yellow with red interiors, but the red was a bright red, not some darkish hue like this, and more importantly, all one shade of red. While a single tone red would work, I'd have preferred black with yellow stitch myself.

Reminds me of a looong time ago. I had a light yellow car with a complete dark green leather interior. And you're right...it worked very well. But it was light yellow instead of this dark yellow. But it would surely be infinitely better than this combination abomination.

Am really not sure - it was someone else who mentiond Iron Ore and as the carpet looked black cherry to me, I assumed the central panels were black cherry too and it was iron ore as the other colour. Now you mention it, I suspect you are correct

either way it looks wrong ! two tone needs to be more of a contrast and in this instance, the whole thing needs to be a brighter, single red to even have a chance of working with the yellow exterior

I would normally agree with you and of course the only person that needs to like the scheme is the owner, it's just that this seems particularly wrong

Providing the dealer and/or factory warns them of the possible clashes and the impact on resale, I don't think they should ever refuse requests of course

On a slightly separate note, it's disappointing that they don't have a computerised simulator when speccing your car - I know there is a basic version on the website but that is very vague with it's colour representation and doesn't have nearly enough detail of all the options or alternate interior views to be very meaningful
