It's not exactly endangering anyone though is it?

I wish I could wheelie like that too!

He wasn't charged with endangering anyone....

He was charged with 1 count of speeding and 2 counts of perverting the course of justice...

He broke the law..... Got caught. THE END

I'm on about the wheelieing guy. He's not endangering anyone but in the article they make it sound like he's lucky to be alive rolleyes

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the other guy getting caught (fair enough he broke the limit but it was clearly safe to do so), but the punishment is utterly ridiculous imo. Another brilliant waste of money.

Ahhh sorry my mistake..... Of course pulling 103mph wheelies on the public roads is completely safe, and should be encouraged.....yes

How silly of me not to realise...

It's not exactly difficult on a 1000cc though... just by twisting the throttle he could lift the front. Doesn't make it dangerous.

Apart from that he is a saint. Muppet more like it. And a member of "I am a driving god" club. biggrin

Anybody can drive fast, even 12 year old kids who nick cars.

If there is no traffic around and it's a long straight road, why wouldn't it be?

I agree...... It's completely appropriate behaviour on the public highway....... You bikers are all heroes you know. So skilful and brave.... I think you should all be allowed to do what you please, and go as fast as you want whenever you want....I mean, what's the worst that could happen??........ The law is all wrong anyway.....

Start practicing your wheelies George....go past a cop at over 100mph.... And if he pulls you up..... Tell him I said its oksmile

George you div. You're not making any friends or any sense.
I can tell you if I was in the blue car that genius overtook while pulling a wheely I would be royally miffed.
Lets just suppose that the genius is not the riding god that he thinks he is and loses it just after getting in front of the blue car. Blue car takes avoiding action so he doesn't pulverise geniuses head. In the process blue car departs road and hits tree. People die. But you ascertain it was safe. In that case I want to be nowhere near you when you're on a bike.
Now as luck would have it genius did not lose it then, but no matter how much you protest that was plain stupid.

Well we clearly have different opinions so it's pointless arguing. I think it's acceptable to speed if it's safe to do so. It's not like he was going past a school at closing time at 120mph on the back wheel. He was on a long straight road with good visibility. You clearly don't think it's acceptable, I do. Lets leave it at that smile

100% serious. I genuinely don't see what is wrong with speeding in a situation where it's safe to do so (like both of these imo). When I'm out on my bike I stick to 30 and 40mph limits, but NSL I can do anywhere up to 16mph if it's safe to do so smile

Scamera vans often hide out of the way, they usually make it difficult to see them.

But there was clearly traffic around.
At that speed what is to stop him flipping it? Riding God and balancing it in the back brake - not convinced!
Wind getting under the front wheel?
Side wind as he comes past the car?
Debris on the road, causing him to panic and shut down - slams front wheel into the road and goes into speed wobble - crashes into car etc. Don't say he could have seen it - he didn't even spot a marked speed camera van - so he's observation skills are rubbish - but then he's concentrating on keeping the front wheel up / not flipping it, so he's not fully in control on a public road.

Lots wrong with that wheelie at that point.
