Y100, alias Bob, please do not read this thread anymore and to all those out there who keep posting PLEASE STOP! Maybe he will go away.

Bob your new car will be perfect! I have had 2 new ones in 2 and a half years and driven 22000 miles , apart from a tiny mirror bracket problem which was quickly resolved , Nothing, Zilch, just the best driving experience of my life. I have also enjoyed the best customer service ever from H.R.Owen. The factory have been fantastic in fact I have been on 9 visits. We have been driving at Millbrook, they even invited my daughter to go on a driving experience which she loved. I feel known and appreciated. Molly and I have met Ian Minards , Marek Reichman, even Dr. Bez. There have all given me some of their precious time.

To the OP maybe it is fair to quote an old saying" As ye shall sow, so ye shall reap"

Your car will NEVER be perfect. You will be very lucky to escape your very own bubble. Good luk

Oh and BTW the opinions of those who's opinions are "influenced" by the glad handing of the chosen few should be viewed with utmost caution Very few of us are so privileged and wined and dined in such a manner

I have given a lot of thought to the problems of the general deteriation of paint on quite a few of our cars and indeed other problems .
I believe it is a question of expectation.
Speaking as Joe Public, I have an expectation that when I purchase an expensive, premium product whether a car or watch or whatever I expect that product to be of superior quality and performance to a cheaper product.
It is therefore a huge disappointment when there is a problem with that product.
The disappointment is exacerbated when the manufacturer of that product appears to offer a derisory amount in compensation rather than offer to immediately correct that fault.
If it was my problem I would expect my car to be professionally inspected by Aston Martin and then to receive an appraisal of the cause of that problem and then a fair and reasonable offer to correct that problem.
I believe that some Aston owners consider their cars as one would a thoroughbred horse, that is highly strung and temperamental and a little quirky.
To a certain extent I concur with this opinion BUT this should not exclude the manufacturer from their responsibilities .
There are obviously a lot of variables when dealing with a car as to what that offer of compensation might be.
Age of car ,service history,etc,etc.
However the manufacturer should be expected to make that offer with a transparent and professional procedure .
