Hello,
I'm new to posting on the forums but have been viewing them for a while and have picked up some good tips and useful information in the past.
I have just bought myself a 2007 MY Aston Martin DB9. It's the car I've wanted for years and still have to pinch myself when I look out of my lounge window and see it parked in my drive. The neighbours must think I've gone totally nuts as I've been walking around with a huge grin since I picked it up on Saturday.
Anyway, down to business. The car is absolutely stunning and was fully serviced, etc, when I purchased it. However, I'm looking ahead to when it will need servicing, etc. I live in Northumberland, just a few miles north of Newcastle. The only dealer I know of anywhere close to I am would be Stratstone's. To be honest I'm not a lover of Stratstone's, I had a Jaguar XK before the AM and used Stratstone's then, I'd like to say they were good and their customer service was outstanding but, sadly, I can't. Their costs aren't exactly competitive either. I've read similar comments on here and other forums so I know I'm not alone in wanting to avoid main dealers when it comes to servicing and repairs.
So, the question is, are there any reputable independent AM specialists in teh Northumberland / Tyne & Wear area that people can recommend?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi - and welcome. Your Aston looks fantastic and is a great colour combination. Congratulations.
Aston Martin Service have a very good reputation and worth a visit just to see the cars they have for sale. Not used them but only seen good things said.

I'm not an Aston owner but considering it. I recall standing in Stratsone's showroom for 20 minutes before anyone even came to help me and, when they did, it was a salesman who had previously sold me a 911 and was just there for a job interview.
If I had an Aston Martin, I'd definitely consider having it serviced at the Aston Workshop before Stratstone. Now I just have to find a dealer I would want to buy from!

I travelled over 300 miles to buy this car. It was actually a Mercedes/Chrysler/Jeep dealership (although they do have an Aston dealership as part of their group). I couldn't fault the guy who sold me the car at all. He did everything he possibly could to make the purchasing experience as smooth and as enjoyable as possible. If they were closer I'd have no hesitation in taking it to them for any work but I think 300+ miles is a little far, although the drive is enjoyable. Looks like it will be the Aston Workshop around Beamish for me when teh time comes. If I had an Aston Martin, I'd definitely consider having it serviced at the Aston Workshop before Stratstone. Happy hunting Mike.

No help needed at present. I have just become the owner of a DB9 and was asking on the Forum for recommendations for AM servicing/repairs in my area. Hopefully I won't need anything other than regular servicing but was just putting out feelers for now so I would have an idea of who to contact should the need arise.
Thanks
Keith
