Looking for a bit of advice. I'm considering a V12 Vantage S for next year, who is best to contact with regards getting a test drive? Will my nearest dealer (Edinburgh) get a car or is it better to go to Aston direct? I'm new to the brand so unsure of the approach. And before you say 'just call Edinburgh and find out', I've tried that before with other brands and in the end found it better to go direct to the source (McLaren being a good example).

I'd go in to your local dealer rather than phone and tell them that you understand the factory normally send cars around the dealerships as part of a 'roadshow' for prospective customers and you want to be included in the calls that are made when that happens
There is no advantage to dealing with the DP over a 'regular' member of the sales staff IMO but walking in and establishing that you are genuine is more likely to have a result than phoning
THis is the standard way they deal with new models and there shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers. I didn't think dealers would get a demo. I'll pop in and see them about letting me know when they have a car.I'd go in to your local dealer rather than phone and tell them that you understand the factory normally send cars around the dealerships as part of a 'roadshow' for prospective customers and you want to be included in the calls that are made when that happens

They will be getting a demo (as I already posted).
How do you think they will sell cars without one?
My local dealer has been told October for their demo car.

Just been told that the official stats have been sent to dealers last night and the 0-60 time is 3.7secs!
Thats a couple of points quicker than I was expecting and means its around 10% faster than the V12V in the sprint to 60mph.
How much of that must be down to the gearbox though?Thats a couple of points quicker than I was expecting and means its around 10% faster than the V12V in the sprint to 60mph.
There was a car track day on at Donington inbetween my track day on Thursday and my mate racing on Saturday/Sunday. I watched a few sessions, and you could hear how much time was being lost with a manual gearbox vs sequential/semi auto. Really is no surprise the latest GT3 has abandoned it too.

I've read 3.9s for 0-62 and 3.7 for 0-60 in one article and 3.9s for 0-62 and 3.8 for 0-60 in anotherThats a couple of points quicker than I was expecting and means its around 10% faster than the V12V in the sprint to 60mph.
apparently when they tested it at 205mph, they backed off at 205 so the figure is conservative

I was thinking the available torque - 10% higher than a normal V12V. Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
