Shock horror. First Aston owner to wave back in over 2 years of ownership. Front on couldn't work out what it was, but a nice pale blue/green heading towards Little Burstead at about 8 this morning. I was heading the other way and so embarrassed how dirty mine was, I actually cleaned it later this morning.

Not like this with TVR owners......

I'm 1 month into ownership and I've probably passed 4 Astons.

2 = No waves
1 = Reciprocated Wave
1 = Initiated Wave

Not that I'm counting.....nuts

I've had owners of older Astons stare at me in horror biggrin

I get the odd wave back but most people sail by in blissful ignorance. I wave at TVR's and Morgans as well. Because I'm friendly like that!

I've noticed that eye contact with other supercar owners (primarily Ferrari) seems quite prolonged. Not as far as a wave, nearly a nod maybe, but perhaps just a bit of respect. Kinda nice.

Had the Aston about 3 years now. Nearly always get an acknowledgement of wave or lights and see a fair number. perhaps just lucky or they are surprised at a lady driving one........

If you have your hand raised, just switch it to 20% mode. Miserable bds.

Of course they do. They have X-Ray specs so can tell you are not wearing red / mustard coloured cords!

In the old days I would enjoy giving a passing Aston a wave and getting a wave back.
I do not bother nowadays as I never get that recognition back and that makes me feel a right pri<k.

I always tend to miss the moment... too busy on my own driving/errant blcensoreddy cyclists/the sat nav/the legs of the girl in the passenger seat to notice an Aston coming the other way until it's too late!

But I did manage a mutual wave last weekend as the traffic in both directions on Tower Bridge stopped just as I was alongside another Aston going the other way. Gives a warm fuzzy feeling (if you know what I mean) to "connect" with another Aston driver smile

When I had an Esprit, all other Lotus owners would wave, and it did not matter if it was an old one (like the old Elans) or newer (Elise). It was in fact the law that you had to wave and/or flash.

In my Noble it was the same, but I only every saw about 2 others on the road at the same time as me in 6 years.

I've had my V8V for almost 12 months now and although I see quite a few AMs, for some reason it's always when I'm in my piddly Clio, so I've not been able to test the waving theory out.

I actually go one step further and give ALL drivers in cool/special cars a big thumbs up when I see them thumbup

That includes all classic cars, muscle cars and exotic sportscars... I feel that everyone driving such cars deserves kudos and also a positive reaction for a CHANGE as here in Switzerland there is a lot of car-hate recently.

Reactions are very varied of course - not just by the other drivers but also by my passengers rofl But a lot of people smile and wave back
