Well it's seven months today since my seizure, a further 3 months before I can apply for my driving license back and an additional two on top for the DVLA to process my application. That's if i remain seizure free.

So far its gone relatively quickly however its starting to drag and I scrolled through some photos looking for a particular image when I found some of my old Vantage which has sparked an unhealthy interest in driving again. While Aston has a powerful emotional connection I'm trying to remain objective and consider other models/marques with the California looking rather good but not a proper Ferrari set against a new shape DB9 which to me is pure elegance except the cabin is the same as my old Vantage. Frustrating at worst but not a deal breaker.

Its keeping me sane for the moment and occasionally lurking here is good for the soul as the enthusiasm is always contagious.

My apologies for the vent but sometimes you take every day pleasures for granted and when you can't its not good but there after everything tastes much sweeter

Good luck with the recovery. Don't rule out a Cali- most definitely a proper Ferrari

I understand that frustration. I too was banned for a year after a seizure. Even though I didn't have an Aston at the time, it was depressing not being allowed to drive, and frustrating having to be driven everywhere. banghead

Hope you're back driving soon!

Chin up, Martin.

I recently filled in the application for a good friend of mine who is a British Gas Engineer - I sort out his finances and he fits central heating systems for me on a quid pro quo basis.

He has something called 'water epilepsy' (??) which is controlled by medication and he hasn't had a seizure in ages - the last time was when he refused his medication because he believed he didn't need it !!

Many people can relate to your predicament yes

Indeed; STBMY's sister was hit by a car around 10 year ago and slightly brain injured... 3 years ago she developed epilepsy out of the blue, fitted, and was banned for a year. She's on the right meds, has adjusted to them and all is well, she's driving again and pregnant with her second.

Excellent outcome!

What has surprised me is how many people have had seizures and not stopped driving and sought to put health insurance in place post event.
