James did a gret job fitting front and rear cameras to my 62 plate V12V when I had it, which did have the Garmin Nav. He fitted a little switch in the ashtray like WindyMiller mentioned above which allowed toggling of nav/camera when going forward, as well as a little button the toggled the views from the smart front camera. Particularly useful was the downward looking overhead front view as it saved the carbon front splitter many a time. Also had him install DAB whilst the ski slope was off.

Top bloke, lovely family who welcomed me into their home whilst work was done and would thoroughly recommend. I felt guilty when selling my car knowing the time and effort he had put in.

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for the stellar writeup and the useful info you've provided.

If you have a moment, I have a few questions:

(1) Based on your description, it sounds as if the nav screen pops up and shows the rear camera, when you put it into reverse... how does this work? Is there something else that needs to be done, or will this happen automatically if the wiring is done as you describe?

(2) Same question goes for the front camera switching automatically to the nav screen when the car is above a certain speed... is there another module or setting needed to enable this function?

(3) It sounds as if the only way to activate the front camera in your setup is to engage the parking sensors... are you happy with that setup, or do you think it'd be nice to have a dedicated toggle switch?

(4) You mentioned the need to solder - what part of the install calls for soldering?

(5) When ordering the VBB4, it asks you to enter your Volvo model number and year... what do you enter here to ensure you get the correct version for your vehicle (I have a 2009 DBS)?

Any insight you can provide would be appreciated. All the best!
