And an awful lot of envy and jealousy due to a apathy and laziness being endemic in the generation of Brits since the 70s SS972 said:
I have the feeling that in the UK it's more "politicaly correct" to own a high end car than in latin europa were catholisime has set a hate for people earning money, not helped in France by our president saying "I don't like riches".to a certain extend the success is more acceptable in the UK than over here.My opinion anyway.
In Italy, despite the Vatican and social situation, the passion for cars is still vivid, the problem is that it has always been considered a status symbol or a way to prove financial wealth. In the recent years cars owners have been bombarded with new taxes and increases in fuel costs.
Recently with the "redditometro" they started to check everybody with expensive cars (actually even people with Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4) treating them like criminals (they were doing blitz in fancy residential places like Cortina d'Ampezzo etc).
In fairness the result of those blitz were horrifing. The vast majority of those car were owned by spa or srl and not by individuals and half of the people driving them was declaring personal income of 20 or 30000 euro a year
Now there are much less of the expensive cars not to attract too much attention
I dont have an Aston (yet) but I think I was in the Cerb or Esprit (cant remember which).
Pulling onto the motorway (A12 near Chelmsford), its pretty busy and plenty of room, I pull out in front him and gave some beans. I hit 70 ish and after about 4 minutes the guy catches up in his old Mondeo, leans out the window (with wife and kids) calls me a f*cking c*nt and wants to fight me.
I said sure, next layby good enough. Pull over and so does he. I get out of the car (all 6'5 and very well built in Police uniform)
He looked just as sheepish in court six months later as he did that day

Always had nothing but positive comments - as others have said, the AM brand seems to be generally liked by the public. Previous Maseratis also well received. A friend with a 997 gets a far more negative response...I cfant work out if it's the car or something to do with how he drives!
I have received nothing but positive reactions to my Aston. However, one Saturday morning I had a bit of fun with another Aston owner. I always park in the same space at the gym (I always get there when they open). This space is furthest from the door and I park there because no one can park to my left and open a driver's door onto my car. One Saturday walking to the door four cars were in the car park. One of them was another vantage and another member was just getting out. As I passed I said "The problem with them cars mate is they're too common." He was taken aback by my statement but caught up with me in the changing room when he realised I owned the other vantage and we had a good chat about Astons.

I am guessing the speedo read in KM/H, so just over 62MPH and below the national speed limit Admitting to over 100MPH on a public highway on a public forum would not be my first thought . I am not suggesting that you will be prosecuted for it, but you may certainly get insulted Robbo66 said:
Can I count a text from a local Dealer in Cardiff, requesting to buy my V12V and then offering an 'insulting' amount compared to other Dealers nationwide ?.
....But in fairness they know that you have never parked and polished it, so paddy would be needed to sort it out
Sorry Robbo, I could not resist that one. You set em up and I will head them in

Yes you can Robbo Last year Wilmslow offered me a V12V for 85k if I was quick and kept it quiet.
The same car was on their website at 82k !!!!!
