Hi all, I'm tempted to try a v12 Vantage but would like to know what options are the best on this model.
Ive had a v8 vantage before and now own a F430.
Any help would be greatly received.

There are not many options on the V12V as they have many of the options already.

However, 700w stereo and lightweight seats for me are the main options, but many of the 2013 cars out there currently have standard sports seats. Nothing wrong with them, just not the right seat for me in that car IMHO. If you try it you buy it wink.

Hi Gary, long time no speak.

I've just changed my DBS to a V12V (I haven't taken delivery of it yet though).

As already posted, there's not really much to spec. Seats are a very personal thing.

Mrs Whoami has had a couple of back ops and the lack of adjustment means that the lightweight seats are a non-starter. To be honest I wasn't that keen either.

If you are looking for a new car, there are very, very few left so get a move on. Few, if any, of the new cars left have the lightweight seats anyway.

Having got out of the lightweight seats in Tony's V12V yesterday, I can honestly say it was the most inelegant dismount ever. The lightweight seats certainly grip you when pushing on, but they also grip you when trying to get out!

I found it very awkward to get out of them, so making me happier that I have the sports seats in my V12V.

Just requires a little practice!

Worth mentioning that the lightweights are essential if you're on the taller side. The lightweights sit about 2inches lower than the sports in their lowest position.

I have the Carbon Black edition which has lots of the optional extras as standard. The 700w sound system is phenomenal, so would recommend that. Not sure an extra 5k for Bang b Oulfsen upgrade is worth it. Front parking sensors are also included, certainly useful when first owning the car!

i am not sure what the seats are in the Carbon Black edition, many reports say they have a light-weight seat, but they still have the lumbar and heat controls. Even Aston's own website says Carbon edition has light weight seats, so not sure if there are more than a couple of seat options?

personally i love all the alcantara inside so that would be on my shortlist too.

If you have heat controls, you have sports seats and not lightweight.

I agree Simon on the getting in and out, but that takes practice wink. The seats are very personal.

I have a 2010 Carbon Black and the only option when new was lightweights. They do not have seat heating and the only lumber adjustment is a foam pad behind the back rest cushion. I have a prolapsed lower disc and find them VERY comfy no matter how long a drive.

Is that lower back issue due to the wedge of money you carry around though?? hehe

I've got lightweights in my v8v and not a single whinge from the mrs after 1500 miles so they must be ok smile

Not tried the standard seats on a long run only a test drive. Found them a bit more harder on my back.

As the guys have said key points....
Sports Seats have heating and side airbags, easier to get in and out of + more adjustments(10 way) ....or Lightweight save 17kg and grip far better for press on driving so make the V12 a more focused driver's car.
700 watt stereo a must..
Phantom Grey carpets save 1.5 kg biggrin
Carbon Black I and II add some nice cosmetic extras if you like black/Carbon! Lightweight seats standard on the I, but sports seats are a NCO!
Tyres, most have the Corsa, but more mainstream P-Zeros have been an option since the 12MY, they would be my choice.

Having been out with Tony in the wet with the straight P Zeros fitted to his V12V they have very impressive grip.

Might swap mine for them, so if any one wants a spare set of Corsas with 450 miles on them smile

Tony sits on his wallet though so he's a got a good 4-5" of extra padding on the seat smile

Lightweight seats all the way for me. They suit the personality of the V12V more so than any other Aston and they are more comfortable as you sit in them rather that sitting on the sofa-like sports seats.

Yes they are a tiny bit harder to get out of but its not a problem as such. Im 6'0 and 13st so tallish and of medium build.

If you are a larger chap then maybe you might struggle...
whistle

The only other thing is it must have either 700W Premium audio or B&O. Sure most people will tell you to listen to the engine and not the stereo but the Std 160W system sucks b*lls big time and has no place in a £100k+ car, let alone an Aston Martin you know wink
