Started fixing the plethora of issues on the red V8V I just bought.
For those that aren't aware: the original FEAD belt is NOT COMPATIBLE with the updated double-wall pulley. You have to use the updated FEAD belt with the updated pulley. And no, spraying anti-squeal on it will not help!
Of all the stupid hack repairs I've seen, this is way up there.

Collected my first Aston Martin on Tuesday, an 06 plate Vantage V8 in Titanium Silver, and for it's first major run I had an entry for the Pistonheads Sunday Service at Prodrive in Banbury, a return journey of 200 miles. All I can say is Wow !, what a fantastic experience. From Wincanton, I Picked up a friend in Trowbridge, and the route was over fast twisty roads via Chippenham, Melksham to Cirencester and then the Fosse Way as far as Stow in the Wold, turning off for Chipping Norton, Bloxham to Banbury. On the return journey we came back via Burford and Bibury to Cirencester. The handling, the sound, the comfort and the performance, What can I say. Fantastic. I didn't even need to drive fast to enjoy the experience, and even recorded 23.4mpg for the entire journey. The turn out at Prodrive was tremendous with large numbers of Aston owners attending and the almost production line of racing Vantages in Prodrives workshops absolutely amazing. Seeing the classic Subaru's once driven by Colin Mcrae and Richard Burns, The BAR F1 driven by Jenson Button, The Rothmans liveried Metro 6R4 and the British Saloon Car championship Ford Mondeo and Honda Accord were an added bonus. I have always thought of Prodrive for the running of Race or Rally car teams and was truly amazed by the diversification of the work undertaken, including manufacture of centre consoles for top model Range Rovers to electric powered Ford Transit Custom vans. A big thank you to Pistonheads for organising this event, and to Prodrive for allowing us to roam around their factory at will, also to the members of their staff who were there to talk about what they do.
