Bob, I cannot for a minute imagine why!!! What cosmetic work? Are you chasing 570BHP? Don't forget to ask BR to fit resonators or you will be deaf!!
Graham, Cockers, thanks for your thoughts. I did own a Maserati that was Inde Rosso red, it so suited the car, so going red again was never a big deal, although I do appreciate more now, the traditional colours that have dominated the Aston marque over recent years.Rob, cosmetics, well, we don't like the silver bonnet vents; Julia described them as looking like they are made out the same stuff that Kipling uses to put their cakes in,,,and I agree,,,they look cheap n nasty, gotta go. I like the black grille and side strakes (like Pearl has) so they are being satin black powder coated. Some additional embroidery to the headrests too, '1913' drivers side & '2013' passenger side, just below the Aston wings, then thats it. Oh yes, and these sill plaques.

Brave man putting 1913 on it as it's generally accepted that Aston didn't start making cars until after the First World War
I'm not sure its that brave, is it? Its no secret that there are numerous Centenary celebrations being held over the summer, organised by AMOC, AML and the Heritage Trust. Although I am aware from reading various threads on the AMOC site, that as you have highlighted, there is some debate about this year being the 'right' year. I'm not in a position or of a mind to argue the point either way.

those plaques look nice..!!....Bob are you attending Hever next Sunday?
Plaques, only the best for Vesuvius Tony. The list of reasons we cannot be at Hever must be longer than the Yas Marina straight,,,,we'd love to be there, a chance to meet up with so many of you, simply impossible. Edited by Y100 on Saturday 22 June 22:24

Well today I test drove a DB9 and Rapide S at my local stealers. Immense. The Rapide is a lovely drive and is almost too nice to put children into!!
Anyways, I had originally gone there to look at the prospect of ordering a V12 Vantage S for Q3 delivery, and instead came away with a DB9 MY2014, stratus white, black leather, red calipers, unregistered, which is being sent up from elsewhere in the group for PDI and Thurs or Fri collection.
My first AM :-)
Can't wait to take her straight out (literally) on a long weekend golf trip to North Wales.
Hi Snipez999, DB9.2, a very good choice. Taking delivery just before a golfing weekend,,,lifes a bd isn't it. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. BR collected Vesuvius from Paintshield. Would I recommend Paintshield, would I recommend Xpel Ultimate, without hesitation. Paintshield bosses Tom and Ann Wakeford are and deserve to be, extremely proud of the high standard of service they provide, their staff as polite as they are conscientious. The product Xpel Ultimate, is just amazing.
I have tried to upload pictures but sadly Thumbsnap not working.

That looks stunning Phil. I agree wholeheartedly about Paintshield as well. What's happening at BR?
Hi Simon, thanks.BR are doing some cosmetics, external and internal, also giving Vesuvius Vanquish bhp + exhaust manifold/sound mods. I think Mike is going to post the details.
I'm Bob by the way.

So you are Sorry about that!
I need to apologise too, for not mentioning Francis. His experties in detailing the paintwork prior to the film being fitted, as Paintshield boss Tom declared, 'gave his product the very best of finished surfaces to be fixed to, showing when out in the sunlight, every metalic flake'. So yes Simon, stunning sums it up nicely. Russwhitehouse said:
Took eldest son to his new girlfriends house which involved a refreshingly long drive on some roads I have not driven for a long time and some I have never driven. Also a chance to letch at aforementioned girlfriend on arrival (oh God forgive me I have sinned!) then an equally pleasant drive from there to collect other son from motorcycle dealer, including opportunity to have a good BS about bikes with owner. All in all a full afternoon of perving, driving and bullstting. Can't go wrong.
When I sowed the seed of this thread, I could never have imagined how well it was to flourish in the fertile minds of contributors, encompassing so many of the good things in life, Russ, I salute you. Jockman said:
You need to soften them up a bit first, Seemon.
Take them out for a drink.....tell them they're the best looking flies you've ever seen.....check their star signs....

Brought her speedily but safely back home to her bespoke sacrarium,,,,now how do I get rid of those squished flies,,,they got what they deserved.
Bob, you need to lay some moist towels over the front bonnet and wing mirrors. Then a blow torch and wallpaper scraper are your friends
Then just like magic, they all disappeared:
All better now.

Went up and down Furka and then aquaplaned at 70 through 720 degrees on the motorway back. Thanks to some miracle the car was not damaged at all but still a very nerve racking experience.
Furka-hell,,,,the g*ds smiled on you there,,,,no doubt changing your trousers was priority. Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
