Not today but discovered that a V8V is a fine car for transporting a bike... Who needs an estate or one of those Porsche roof-rack things!!

Bentley01, AstonTony and me just after we'd woken Slaidburn. Great Sunday drive.
Next time you try that route, try turning right in Slaidburn rather than going straight on (the green arrow). One of the best roads I know, a bit narrow but always really quiet, and some spectacular views. I usually go up there, cut across to Ingleton, go up towards Devils Bridge, turn down towards Caton then back through the trough of Bowland to Dunsop.

Yesterday - drove it!
Not just a short drive but to Cardiff and back - 450+ miles. 4.5-5 hours total journey time. Most I've driven in 4+ months
Can walk today, not feeling any pain.

no way in hell a bike's going in my aston! That's what my fiat abarth is for.

BTW> Good taste in bikes! I've got a cervelo R5 (tempermental as hell but very purty!)

Got an invite today to attend Brands Hatch in the car with some Aston Martin factory test drivers/instructors to evaluate my coil-over set-up. it will be great to have some professional assessment of the suspension mods by experts far more capable than myself at putting the car on its limits. I also hope for some constructive criticism to further fine tune the set-up.

Yup, was going to take the MGC on my profile and did - for the first 30 miles. Then got a puncture but there was no visible sign of anything in the tyre. Had just had all 4 tyres replaced via the garage that recommissioned the car and not sure the fitter they had subbed it to had got it right - webbing to protect the tube from the spokes etc decision was taken not to do the 1000 mile round trip in those circumstances so we did a u-turn and slummed it in the Aston.

We did the trip 4 years ago in the MG but even though it's got a 3 litre engine the car is tiny by today's standards so you do feel very vulnerable on the M25 with the roof down- the Autoroute being so quiet was a pleasure though.

We arrived at the Tunnel at around 12.30pm and after various toings and froings, being told one thing then another and witnessing one or two tempers getting frayed ( mainly the 'oldies' I must say ) we actually got a Train at 5pm - result.

I thought I might have spotted you pulling out of the overflow car park at around 1pm - same colour V12VS but the driver seemed younger and better looking, or maybe a V12VS has that effect biggrin

PS probably still got a pot of that apple baby food desert if you would like it sending on.......
